Chapter 135: The Blind Girl Discovers the Slip-Up

“Plop!”

Both of them fell into the water at the same time.

Xue Nuo’s drunkenness was mostly washed away by the warm spring water. When she raised her head, her wet hair fell over her face, looking disheveled as she rubbed her eyes, half awake and half dreaming.

She first noticed her completely naked body, her cheeks flushed as she hurriedly covered herself. Then, she caught sight of the equally bare Black-Haired Boy before her, and her pupils constricted tightly.

“Cough cough!”

Roy looked up and saw Xue Nuo staring intently at him, causing his heart to tighten.

This is the worst development!

After a brief moment of awkwardness, the now sober girl would undoubtedly flip out and take her frustration out on him!

Roy could swear he remembered this trope even with his amnesia!

Roy put his hands up in a defensive posture, nervously saying, “Miss Xue Nuo, please calm down and let me explain…”

But unexpectedly, the Silver-Haired Girl neither lashed out nor called him a pervert; instead, her legs gave out, and she slumped into the bath.

“What… what did I do to you…”

“I didn’t do anything to you—huh?”

Her unexpected response left Roy momentarily dumbfounded.

Seeing the boy in a daze and not speaking, Xue Nuo’s heart was gripped with fear, her mood plummeting.

She trusted Roy’s character.

The one who must have messed up had to be herself.

Recently, Xue Nuo had indeed entertained the thought of bathing together with Roy, but she had never mentioned it.

After all, pretending to be lovers with such impure thoughts was already shameless enough.

She had never forgotten.

Her “lover” was just a façade.

Seeing Xue Nuo getting up to leave, Roy quickly pulled her back.

Xue Nuo froze for a moment, silently gazing at their precarious situation.

Was it that they couldn’t become lovers?

Like, perhaps, he was her long-lost brother?

The nonsensical thought made Roy laugh even at himself. They didn’t even share the same eye color and didn’t look related at all!

But regardless, there had to be some hidden truth within this.

His past was narrated by Xue Nuo.

It wasn’t that he didn’t trust Xue Nuo, but she definitely concealed something, and he needed to piece together those hidden parts.

He had an ominous feeling in his heart, telling him this was crucial for him.

“Ahhh! This damn weather! I just want to take a hot bath!”

In the chilly, ancient tavern, among the three tightly huddled girls, the one on the edge suddenly let out a tearful exclamation that went unnoticed by anyone in the tavern.

Everyone was shivering in the cold, too busy to care about anybody else.

Of course, part of the reason was because they were wrapped in hooded cotton coats, hiding their typically breathtaking faces.

That’s right; at the same time Roy and Xue Nuo were having their bathroom fiasco, Charlotte and her group had just arrived at the southern border of the Empire, still quite a distance from the northern quiet town.

This time, for speed’s sake, they didn’t bring any attendants and instead hired various extraordinary beings and props, arriving from Academy City to the Empire in just seven days—twice as fast as a wagon dragged by Ice Wolves.

However, they were ultimately stopped by the Empire’s blizzard.

Having grown up in warm forests, the elven girls were used to cozying up by the fire in winter and couldn’t endure this kind of suffering. The first to crack began to grumble.

“I would trade my entire fortune for a hot bath!”

The brown-haired girl on the far left glanced at her, shaking and yet scoffing, “Hmph, like who doesn’t wish for that.”

“This is just how it is during this season in the Empire; even mid-tier extraordinary beings can’t withstand this level of cold for long.”

“I get it! But why is it so cold even in the inn?!” Nia slammed the table in frustration.

“It’s like this in the mountains; fuel is scarce, supplies are limited…”

“Ahhh! Then why did we have to take the mountain route?!”

“Because it’s closer. Taking a different route would delay us for days, and by then, that emotionless girl could have taken over!” Leanna paused for a moment to muster a provoking smirk, “If you can’t handle this little hardship, then how can you claim your love for Roy is deep?”

“Why don’t you take off that self-heating extraordinary shirt of yours and give it to me?!”

As Nia and Leanna were about to start another spat, the red-haired girl sighed gently, lifted her head, and banged the table, stopping their quarrel.

“Enough, ladies.”

“Our enemy is Xue Nuo Andévyis; this is not the time for infighting.”

“Roy has promised to treat us equally. Don’t you think this bickering is childish and ridiculous?”

When did it become your turn to give orders? And ‘childish and ridiculous’? You could have just kept your mouth shut!

The two girls’ lips twitched, about to retort, but unexpectedly, the red-haired princess extended a hand to each of them as if generously bestowing something.

Crimson light emanated from her, radiating a stunning warmth that instantly dispelled the chill around them.

Charlotte smiled softly, “Am I wrong?”

No one responded.

But both girls simultaneously lowered their heads, oddly linking their arms with her like two clingy little sisters.
