Chapter 20: After School Classes

“You’re going to repeat the year.”

This was undoubtedly a bolt from the blue for any student.

Roy couldn’t handle it on the spot: “This is unreasonable!”

Veszyra’s subjects weren’t that tough; he wasn’t a top student, but he was definitely above average. How could he possibly be held back? Nia, who slacked off in class every day, hadn’t even received such a warning!

However, Xue Nuo was ruthless: “It’s quite reasonable.”

She handed over the report card and pointed out, “Reasonable. Your grades aren’t bad, but your absences this semester are too many; your overall credits have slipped into the bottom fifty.”

“If this continues, repeating is inevitable.”

Roy was stunned.

Because this was indeed his fault!

Thinking back, he had hardly attended class this semester.

He had accompanied Leanna to the underground auction, hunted down the Purple Demon Society, and then gone on a trip to the Southern Seas. His attendance was terrible!

Originally, the mission to take down the Purple Demon Society, which was a major task assigned by the academy, should have earned him extra credit, but he had gone as the Sword Demon, so of course, that didn’t count.

Veszyra’s grading system split grades evenly between regular attendance and final exam performance.

Attendance was a significant part of the regular grades, and the easiest way to earn easy points. Who would’ve thought he’d actually screw that up?!

For regular students, being held back wasn’t such a big deal; they could just repeat a year.

The problem was, he was a noble, a knight sworn to a princess, the victor of the Trial of Blue, the center of attention at the academy.

Being held back would become a political stain, embarrassing Charlotte, Nia, Leanna, the Ainbrad family, and the entire kingdom.

But what Roy found hardest to accept wasn’t just the idea of being held back.

That’s right, before Roy could even recover from the shock of potentially repeating the year, the interface dropped another bombshell on him.

He had already missed the opportunity to meet Xue Nuo, the last female lead, for a whole semester and had completely forgotten about her.

Then, out of the blue, the panel hit him with this unexpected occurrence.

While Roy’s brain was malfunctioning, Xue Nuo softened her tone, giving him hope.

“Don’t worry. But you also don’t need to panic.”

“There will be evening remedial classes for students lacking credits. As long as you attend regularly and score well in the finals, there’s still hope to make up for it.”

Roy covered his face in distress.

This reminded him.

There was a similar plot in the original work.

“Bad Boy Roy,” due to insufficient credits, was required by Xue Nuo to attend remedial classes, which he flatly refused. This left a terrible impression on her, turning him into a troublesome child she closely monitored.

The three girls turned pale.

Each of them had their own busy schedules. Their time spent with Roy was already concentrated on Saturday afternoons and evenings. Now with these remedial classes, wouldn’t their time to meet Roy be even shorter?!

Leanna exclaimed: “Can’t we skip the remedial class and just rely on our exam scores?”

Xue Nuo shook her head: “Denied. Even if he scores full marks in the finals, his overall credits won’t be enough.”

Seeing the three girls strongly opposed, Xue Nuo’s tone turned cold.

“This remedial class is simply an opportunity for those with insufficient credits to redeem themselves.”

“I have no doubt about your feelings, but a student’s duty is to study. Mixing in inappropriate love affairs will only affect your academics, and that’s not a good thing.”

“If you really care about Roy, you should learn to let go. You can whisper sweet nothings to him after you graduate.”

Xue Nuo spoke earnestly.

Her severe criticism was like a north wind, leaving the three girls speechless, heads bowed like little chicks shivering in the cold.

Unbelievable, three couldn’t win against one!

Clearly, Charlotte and the others couldn’t overcome the natural debuff that reduced students’ influence against teachers.

“So then…”

“So then, I’ll just attend the remedial classes,” Roy lifted his head and gave his answer.

At his words, the three girls looked reluctant yet resigned.

Xue Nuo was slightly taken aback, studying the black-haired boy before her. Seeing his sincere attitude, she was somewhat surprised.

Noble students generally had an air of defiance. Even Charlotte and the others had very strong aversions.

It wouldn’t be strange for the former troublemaker, the charming playboy, to refuse to attend remedial classes.

It was odd that he agreed so readily.

“Aren’t you opposed to the remedial classes?”

“Why should I be?” Roy scratched his head, looking sincere: “As the teacher said, this is a great opportunity to make up for credits.”

“After all, the teacher is just looking out for me.”

Xue Nuo fell into silence upon hearing this.

Those kinds of teachers who wield both kind and harsh methods would say those words. She followed the strictest guidelines in education, so hearing a student say this was quite refreshing.

Though he had missed class to a ridiculous extent, he didn’t seem like a bad boy… or was this just a facade to deceive her?

Xue Nuo couldn’t figure it out and didn’t want to think too much.

Time would tell everything.

“Remedial classes start tomorrow. Go to East Teaching Building 101. Don’t even think about skipping, or I’ll personally come find you.”

Roy couldn’t help but laugh: “That won’t happen.”

“Teacher Xue Nuo, see you tomorrow.”

As the most frightening woman in the original work, Xue Nuo’s threats were no joke.

Noble students were strict with themselves and equally harsh on others. This was exemplified in Xue Nuo’s style of education, reminiscent of Sparta.

She might not physically punish students, but she had no qualms about making them write out sentences a hundred times, run laps a hundred times, or forcing them to stand outside and study all night if they couldn’t recite poems.

However, those punishments were only directed at those who seriously misbehaved.

That’s right, the outrageous penalties above were only for the truly bad kids.

As long as one obeyed the school rules and acted like a good student, Xue Nuo’s attitude wouldn’t be friendly, but it wouldn’t be threatening either. She was like a wolf; if you didn’t provoke her, she wouldn’t bother with you.

It was fair to say that only someone like “Bad Boy Roy” from the original work, with such a blockheaded mind, would think of taking on a Spartan teacher head-on.
