Chapter 437

Chapter 144: Am I Accompanied by a Junior?

After nearly two weeks of sailing, Roy and his companions finally arrived at the white sandy beaches of the Southern Sea Kingdom.

To be precise, they reached a small island, Coral Island, located on the white sandy beach.

The Southern Sea Kingdom is an archipelago with countless islands, but Coral Island is undoubtedly the most famous one.

The lord of Coral Island loves tourism, so he built numerous tourist facilities on the island, turning it into a renowned holiday destination.

Anyone visiting the Southern Sea Kingdom has to stop by the white sandy beach, and to fully enjoy the beach, one must come to Coral Island.

Now is peak tourist season, and Coral Island is bustling with vacationers. However, thanks to Lisanna’s connections, they managed to snatch up the most luxurious seaside villa directly from the island’s lord for their stay.

The two-story white villa nestled among tropical foliage sits high on the coast and comes with amenities like a swimming pool, café, and bar.

At this moment, Kreya and the others were busy unpacking, while Roy sat with Leanna at the villa’s open-air café on the second floor, enjoying the leisurely holiday under the pleasant sea breeze.

This spot allowed them to bask in the warm sunlight while soaking in the breathtaking views of the snow-white beach and the endless blue sea, which made Roy very satisfied.

He discovered for the first time that it wasn’t that he didn’t like traveling; he just hated being in crowded places. It was quite nice to sip coffee and leisurely enjoy the moment like this.

“You seem pretty happy,” Leanna teased from beside him.

Roy took a sip of his creamy coffee and glanced at the girl across from him. “Aren’t you, too?”

Leanna was wearing a swimsuit topped with a dark, flowing shawl and a sunhat.

She lounged back on the white chair, stretching her long, beautiful legs, looking relaxed and comfortable.

She resembled those movie stars and models from Roy’s previous life, every smile and frown able to grace an artsy poster.

Leanna sipped her coffee, narrowed her eyes comfortably in the sunshine, and said, “Do you remember? Back when we were entering the Cassandra Family Mansion, I mentioned wanting to do a lot of things when I got back?”

“Like what?”

“Like this, right now.”

“Sipping coffee by the beach?” Roy’s expression was a bit odd. “Is that it?”

Leanna had just rescued her mother and escaped the machinations and burdens of the Demon Race. Roy thought her ambitions would be more grandiose, like revitalizing the Cassandra family or wiping out the culprits.

Leanna flicked a lock of hair, laughed, “Yep, that’s it.”

She turned, her purple eyes gazing at him, a gentle smile playing on her lips.

“And for me, it’s not just that.”

“Huh?”

“Because I have a junior accompanying me.”

Roy hesitated mid-sip of his coffee.

“Even though the junior didn’t answer me back then, he’s still here with me now.”

Roy shifted his gaze to the clouds on the horizon, silently muttering to himself.

Just this level of companionship was something he could easily provide.

Or is it that the senpai really cares about me?

Roy found the thought a bit self-obsessed and couldn’t help but chuckle.

But those recent glances filled with affection didn’t seem like a joke at all.

Out of the corner of his eye, Roy noticed the brown-haired girl lost in thought, staring into the distance.

On the beach, he could see many vividly dressed tourists, mostly young couples holding hands.

Could Leanna also want to experience a mundane romance like they do?

But why with him?

He didn’t seem to have anything…

Ugh, now that he thought about it, it seemed they’d shared a lot of flirty moments.

Going on shopping dates, having coffee together, even sleeping over at each other’s places.

But most of those times were her teasing him!

Roy was feeling conflicted. He had always struggled to deal with bad girls’ teasing, and now he couldn’t even gauge whether she was joking.

But if he were to think about how he felt towards her…

“By the way, how’s your health?” Leanna suddenly turned and asked.

“Uh? It’s okay, I guess.”

“That’s good. Do you want to go out for a stroll later? Of course, if you want to stay in, I’ll keep you company.”

Roy was still feeling a bit unsteady, like he had drunk fake booze just walking around.

But since they rarely managed to get out, it would be a shame to stay cooped up in the room.

Especially for Leanna, this was a precious opportunity to relax after so many years. Besides, she had taken care of him all along, so he should spend some time with her too.

No matter what Leanna thought, at least he wanted her to enjoy herself a bit more.

Roy trying to sound casual replied, “Let’s go outside for a walk then.”

“Good, I’m a bit tired of sitting here anyway.”

Roy followed Leanna as they found one of the villa’s staff to inquire.

Since they had just finished a long journey, feeling a bit fatigued, and still had several days ahead, they decided to visit a more relaxing spot first and save the more adventurous activities for the next day.

Upon hearing their needs, the staff recommended the perfect place.

The unique attraction of Coral City, the Underwater Corridor.

It wasn’t far from the villa, and it was a recent hotspot with not many tourists yet.

Strictly speaking, it was just an aquarium. But unlike a typical aquarium, this was a true shallow sea underwater experience.

The glass on both sides extended straight in an elliptical shape, and even the floor beneath their feet was transparent.

The golden sun reflected off the blue waters, and vibrant coral clusters cast sparkling colors from all around, offering a spectacular view.

It felt like stepping into an underwater realm, a dreamlike landscape that seemed just out of reach.

Children squealed and bounced as they walked along the corridor, young couples paused hand-in-hand, and all the visiting tourists marveled at the underwater beauty, utterly captivated.

Even Leanna’s beautiful eyes widened slightly, drawn to the schools of fish dancing among the corals.

Watching her, almost childlike, struggling to take a step away from the edge of the corridor made Roy amused as well as grateful for his decision to accompany her.

The discomfort caused by the Sea God’s power was long forgotten by Roy.

But just as Leanna tried to place her hand on the edge of the glass, attempting to coax the fish, a swarm of fish swiftly darted away, as if scalded.

“Ah…” A short sigh escaped her lips, and disappointment flickered in her eyes.

“What’s wrong?”

Leanna turned, smirking bitterly, “Looks like I’m not very popular.”

“I nearly forgot—ever since becoming a black magician, ordinary creatures tend to steer clear of me.”

Leanna lowered her gaze, self-mockingly saying, “I always thought it was just a side effect of black magic. Now I realize it’s because I have the filthy blood of the Demon Race flowing through me.”

Roy frowned, “You’re not a Demon.”

“But it’s a fact that these fish won’t come near me.”

Suddenly, Leanna snapped back to reality, forcing a soft smile, “Ah, sorry, I said something depressing.”

“Roy, why don’t you just go ahead and explore on your own?”

“Senpai?”

“It’s rare to be here; with me tagging along, you can’t really enjoy yourself, right? I’ll just wait for you outside.”

With that, Leanna turned to leave.

But at that moment, Roy grasped her hand tightly.
