Chapter 430

Chapter 137: Not Bad at All

The core power of this buff, without a doubt, is Purification.

Purification is highly versatile; it can heal oneself and allies from contamination by malevolent forces and also serve as a means to defeat enemies, essentially a form of Holy Light.

Weapon Projection: Clear Water is derived from this foundation. With this move, dealing with the Demon Race and most Cultists next time will be much more efficient, offering more attack methods, unlike when facing Diabolus, where all hope rested on a decisive blow using Blood Condensation.

To be honest, using blood for healing and recovery of extraordinary abilities is way more cost-effective. If it weren’t for the dire circumstances, I wouldn’t want to frequently rely on Blood Condensation.

Moreover, after using Blood Condensation, I’d end up in a period of low blood pressure and couldn’t use it continuously.

Then there’s As Calm as Water, which came as another surprise.

After reaching Sequence 7, the effect of the Fog Cloak dropped significantly, and As Calm as Water perfectly filled in the gap for concealing my presence.

Additionally, unlike the Fog Cloak, this move can be used in combat, whether for surprise attacks or retreats.

It’s not like one can just take a moment to pull out a cloak during a fight; extraordinary abilities can be activated whenever needed.

The only thing that leaves Roy a bit speechless is Merfolk Transformation.

The Academy City is situated in the center of the continent, and my home, the Lionheart Kingdom, is all mountains and hills. Forget the ocean, I barely see a lake!

I can swim just fine, but this ability is just plain useless!

And who wants to see a man turn into a mermaid? I certainly don’t want to grow gills and a fish tail! That would be ridiculously ugly!

As for communicating with marine creatures, some superhero’s popularity in my previous life has already proven how lame that move is.

Besides, once you realize those seafood are intelligent beings, it gets a bit awkward to chow down on them…

Roy silently prayed he’d never have to use that power.

As for the Blade of the First King, besides its consistently amazing divine power, it seems to have gained some additional abilities.

When wielding the divine spear, even if it was just a projection, Roy felt like he truly wielded the ocean’s might, capable of commanding sea creatures and controlling water and weather.

Thinking back, the other two Blades of the First King probably have similar powers.

It’s not mentioned in the panel; perhaps because it isn’t an extraordinary ability but a divine right and power inherent to being a demigod.

If the bloodline of the False King reaches its peak, perhaps I could fully master it…

Roy wasn’t too interested in power itself.

However, Cultists like the Evil Dragon Society, All Things Wither, and the Necromancer Faction wouldn’t let him go easily, coupled with the recent grievances with the Demon Race, which forced Roy to seek more strength.

Just thinking of these enemies made him shiver.

Forget about the Cultists; now he’s also in trouble with the Demon Race. Why do his enemies keep multiplying?

But for now, leaving the Cultists aside, the Demon Race is a thousand miles away beyond the Desperate Defense Line, so there’s no need for him to panic.

Even the Flame Demon, one of the Four Heavenly Kings, after planning for years, could only manage to send in a projection.

If he dares to cross the line, he’d just be beaten up by the forces of Veszyra.

So, what’s really important now is…

Food!

Forget the Cultists and Demon Race; nothing is more pressing than the issue of eating!

Logically, breakfast should be on its way by now.

Just as Roy’s biological clock in his stomach chimed in, the door opened, revealing a graceful figure entering, carrying a tray.

“Oh, you’re awake! Was my bed comfortable?”

“Not bad. Also, isn’t it true that this villa hasn’t been occupied in a long time? It’s not like you actually slept here.” Roy shot back.

At that moment, they were at the Purple Mage Faction’s villa in the suburbs.

Outside the window lay a golden, glittering silver forest – quite the sight.

This place was originally the Cassandra Family’s private resort. Most strongholds of the Purple Mage Faction were destroyed in battles, yet this spot managed to escape disaster due to years of neglect.

“By the way, why are you changing styles today?” Roy looked at Leanna with suspicion.

Having the senior red-haired girl personally tend to him would normally be enviable, but if she couldn’t stop teasing him, that’d be a different story.

In recent days, Leanna had been sporting wavy long hair and wearing a sexy tank dress, teasing him left and right under the pretense of taking care of him.

Unfortunately, Roy was feeling weak and could not resist, letting her toy with him.

But today, Leanna’s hair was gracefully draped over her shoulders, wearing a creamy white top and knee-length brown skirt, looking dignified and graceful.

Leanna placed the tray on the nightstand and pulled up a chair, saying, “Just thought I’d change it up a bit.”

“Or are you saying that as a boy, you prefer when I dress more provocatively?”

“I don’t care what you wear…” Roy avoided her teasing gaze, mumbling quietly.

Women are precious, but food prices are even higher.

Right now, all Roy wanted was food!

Seeing Leanna instinctively grab the knife and fork, Roy stopped her.

“I think I’ve recovered enough, so no need to trouble you today.”

“Are you sure?” Leanna looked skeptical. “Being strong-willed is cute, but accepting help from others is the wiser choice.”

Roy almost rolled his eyes.

At the end of the day, it was still her fault for using the excuse of feeding him to pull off those antics – rubbing her legs against him, caressing his face, and purposely spilling cold soup to “help” clean it up!

This whole feeding business is just not right!

But today, she wouldn’t get her way!

“I said I don’t need it.”

Roy took a deep breath and slowly propped himself up.

The dizziness hit him like sea-sickness, but he gritted his teeth and didn’t collapse on the spot.

Under Leanna’s worried gaze, Roy forced out a pale smile, “See, I’m fine, right?”

“Alright, time to eat, eat!”

In reality, he was far from fine.

Roy’s vision was still blurry; he could barely see anything and had to rely on instinct to get up, awkwardly fumbling around.

He ended up swiping at air and tumbled right off the bed.

Great.

Just moments ago claiming he was fine, now he’s falling off the bed like a loser! Leanna is gonna laugh at him!

Unexpectedly, however, he didn’t hit the floor but instead landed straight into a well-prepared soft embrace.

The soft and cushy sensation was wrapped in the gentle aroma of bellflower, accompanied by a barely restrained giggle.

With Roy already spent of strength, he sank into it, momentarily at a loss.

“Funny enough, the last time was the same.”

“Last time?”

“Yep, when you fainted, you also tumbled right into my arms.” Leanna’s tone held no irritation, only a hint of pleasure, “I thought you must have been feeling bold and planning something.”

“You’re overthinking it!”

Leanna helped Roy back onto the bed, looking victorious with a soft smile, “Alright then, are you going to keep being stubborn, like a little perv, or are you going to be a good boy and let your senpai feed you?”

After a brief silence, Roy could only let out a resigned sigh and obediently opened his mouth.

“Such a good boy~” Leanna’s eyes twinkled as she scooped a spoonful of hot soup and brought it to Roy’s lips.

“Is it good?”

Roy stubbornly replied, “Not bad.”
