Chapter 417

Chapter 124: One is Enough for Me

Leanna knew that Roy could never deal with her.

Unexpectedly, the boy insisted, “If you don’t want it, I won’t wear it either.”

“Eh?”

Roy realized he couldn’t win against Leanna, so he simply resorted to being a brat: “Nope, let’s just trash it. It was meant for you anyway.”

Seeing Roy clutching the Heart of the Great Enemy, Leanna finally panicked and surrendered: “Wait, wait, I’ll wear it.”

“Can’t do anything about you…”

It was rare to see Leanna at a loss, and Roy couldn’t help but grin.

But in the next second, Leanna turned her back to him, lifting her hair to reveal her delicate, pale neck, as if crafted from porcelain.

“In that case, please help me put it on, junior~”

“You little…”

Forget it, this isn’t the time to outsmart a bad woman.

Roy obediently helped her put on the necklace.

Leanna caressed the brown gem hanging on her chest, lost in thought, before squinting her eyes and sighing, “Honestly, even if I die now, I wouldn’t regret it.”

“What kind of nonsense is that…” Roy was speechless.

Why is even this bad woman starting to jinx herself? Scared she won’t make it back alive, huh?

“And this thing isn’t a gift for you. Remember to give it back to me when everything’s over!”

“What a shame.” Leanna muttered with some regret, but then she smiled brightly again: “Don’t worry, I was just joking earlier.”

She looked straight at Roy, her amethyst-like beautiful eyes filled with the image of the young boy: “I don’t want to die now. Once we’re back alive, there’s so much more…”

“Let’s take our time to finish it later.” Roy waved his hand.

Senior sister, do you really need to make the flag this obvious? Can’t we just hope for the best?!

Leanna paused, blinked her eyes, and reined in the ripples in her gaze: “Yeah, let’s talk about it later.”

“When we get back, will you stay with me?”

Roy turned around, just about to speak, but their expressions changed simultaneously.

A horrifying power rolled in.

However, having experienced such attacks before, both were already prepared, standing up to protect each other.

In an instant, the rushing Hydra coiled up, and Roy stood in front of Leanna, donning the Evil Dragon Blood Armor.

With a thunderous boom, the once decent courtyard was leveled.

Yet, amidst the swirling smoke and dark attributes, the two standing hand in hand remained unyielding.

A demon with one wing spread landed on the mansion’s roof.

“You humans are so sickening, no matter how many times I see you acting lovey-dovey.”

“Hah, do you know why villains rarely interrupt the main characters when they’re getting cozy? Because that’s just waiting to die.”

Diabolus had a confused expression, not quite understanding.

Noticing this, Roy continued, “Let me rephrase it.”

He removed his hood, maximizing his sarcasm: “Jealous much? Single dog.”

In the culture of the Demon Race, there was no concept of love; partners were more like assets.

However, Diabolus felt a stab of pain.

It was like a rich guy mocking a poor person.

“Fool, I just find human women uninteresting. In the demon realm, I have countless concubines!”

“I almost believed you, single dog.”

“You…”

Diabolus’s brows twitched, just as he was about to retort, Roy suddenly raised his hand and flung a sharp spear.

At the same time, Leanna turned into a shadow and swiftly darted deeper into the mansion.

This was their prior agreement.

For Leanna, rescuing her mother was more important than revenge, even willing to forgo a head-on clash with Diabolus for her mother’s safety. Moreover, failing to rescue Lisa would risk being taken hostage.

Thus, the faster Leanna went to save her, the more distraction Roy could provide against Diabolus.

The Great Demon crushed the spear with ease, glancing at the direction Leanna had fled and didn’t stop her, instead coldly smiling.

“A crude provocation for this?”

“You’re not going to stop her? Looks like you have a lot of confidence in your defenses for Lisa.” Roy raised an eyebrow.

“Heh, what do you think?”

Diabolus shot a mischievous smile at him, hoping to see unease and hesitation on the boy’s face.

However, Roy looked completely unfazed.

“As expected, you have your sights set on Leanna.”

Diabolus was slightly taken aback.

Roy recalled details Leanna had shared: “Back then, you purposely let Leanna go, and now you’re trying to lure her here.”

“Last time we fought, you chased after me, yet went easy on Leanna. Not only that, but you could have killed Lisa but only threatened her verbally and took no action.”

“What exactly do you want to do to her?” Roy’s voice turned cold.

Diabolus stroked his chin, squinting as the smirk vanished from his face: “I dislike clever people.”

“You guessed right. I let her go back then on purpose, letting her come back for revenge was part of my plan.”

“However, you don’t need to know the reasons behind it.”

With a sinister grin, Diabolus vanished in a flash, descending like a dark comet.

“After all, dead people don’t need to know so much!”

Wherever the violent claws passed, everything shattered.

Until crashing against the dark golden strike, exploding into dazzling sparks, only then did he momentarily stop.

“That doesn’t matter; no matter what schemes you have…” Roy countered Diabolus’s claws with a smile: “I only need to kill you and then I’ll go help.”

“Kill me?” Diabolus burst into laughter.

Diabolus, roaring loudly, shadow waves enveloped his one-armed position, claw shapes materialized, both claws pressed down on the sword, muscles bulging, unleashing terrifying strength that made Roy feel like he was wrestling with a giant beast.

The ground beneath Roy felt like it couldn’t withstand the pressure, sinking ominously.

Diabolus leaned over Roy, laughing maniacally, “Human, don’t overestimate yourself.”

“Last time you two together couldn’t match me.”

“This time with just you? You’re only buying time to buy Leanna a chance to rescue someone.”

“Your struggles are completely meaningless…!”

The sword rang out, flames surged, accompanied by the mocking laughter of the black-haired boy.

“You seem to have misunderstood something; I’m not here to show off.”

“Killing you? One is enough for me!”

As his words fell, the Ember Flame Blade ignited, roaring like a fire dragon.

Facing the crimson fire dragon, Diabolus retaliated with an equivalent magical flame.

The red flames fell into disarray upon collision, but at that moment, the dark golden blade sliced through the fiery curtain, slashing diagonally.

Diabolus raised a claw, launching Roy several meters away.

However, the one with a worse look on his face was Diabolus, clutching his face.

A slight sword scar appeared on his cheek.

But that scar sizzled with a burning sensation, spreading incessantly.

Meanwhile, seizing the opportunity during their clash, Leanna arrived outside the Auditorium.

Under the howls of the Hydra, she effortlessly swept away the demon guards stationed there and broke into the Auditorium.
