Chapter 328

Chapter 34: Second Chance

“Sorry?”

“That’s right, it’s an apology.”

Facing the young boy’s disbelieving gaze, Leanna squeezed out a bittersweet smile.

At first, she only wanted to use Roy’s False King’s blood for power, but the more she learned, the more she wanted to completely possess him.

However, Roy had already pledged loyalty to the princess, forged bonds with elves, and his overly cautious attitude made Leanna realize she hardly had any room to intervene.

Especially after hearing from Alice that material things were unlikely to sway Roy, Leanna had to resort to the most effective, yet also the most wretched tactic.

Seduction.

As long as she embedded a subconscious liking for herself in his mind using the “Illusory Eyes of Uriel,” she could completely alter his perception of her.

Unfortunately, she had failed.

“I know exactly what I’m doing. I also know that Junior Roy wouldn’t accept this method, but he’s even more impressive than I imagined, managing to deal with illusions too.”

“Is it worth going this far?” Roy couldn’t help frowning.

Leanna fell silent for a moment, then lifted her head and sighed softly.

“What’s the point of asking this now? Whether it was a whim or came from the heart, what’s done is done.”

“Since I’ve been seen through, I won’t argue. I truly wanted to use the illusion to have you,” Leanna shook her head, sounding a bit self-deprecating, “Unfortunately, I’m just that despicable and annoying of a woman.”

“Feel free to scorn or hit me; if you want revenge, just go ahead. I won’t fight back.”

The girl, shrinking into the dark corner, revealed an expression of helplessness, loneliness, and a touch of sorrow, as if the darkness had colored her: “After all, having done such a thing, it’s only natural for Junior Roy to dislike me.”

With that, Leanna slowly closed her eyes, as if letting go of all defenses, waiting for her judgment from Roy.

This look was a stark contrast to her usually poised demeanor, making Roy recall the illusion of her drenched in blood, wandering in darkness.

How does one take revenge on a wicked woman who once sought to control him?

Should he show disdain as a token of contempt, unleash violence to vent his anger, or repay her with the same trick, turning the tables?

No matter which option it was, it was not what Roy wanted.

“Leanna, let me confirm, you never thought of hurting me, right?”

Leanna opened her eyes, puzzled: “Haven’t you already confirmed that in the illusion?”

Roy gazed deeply into her eyes and said seriously, “I want to hear you say it yourself.”

The girl was startled, a glimmer of hope flashing in her eyes: “I just wanted to have you, but I never intended to hurt you.”

“What do you mean by having you?”

“Just like you treat the Lionheart Princess and the elf Nightingale, with sincerity and no reservations,” Leanna blurted out.

Roy lowered his gaze and murmured: “If that’s the case, I can’t fulfill your wish.”

The last flicker of hope in Leanna’s eyes faded away.

She wasn’t too surprised; after all, having done something like that, it was only natural to be disliked.

Yet, hearing the boy say it made her involuntarily feel bitter.

Like trying to dispel this nauseating bitterness, Leanna instinctively lifted the corners of her mouth, murmuring: “Well, Junior Roy really is still…”

“But I don’t hate you.”

Leanna froze, raising her head in disbelief.

“Even though I’ve done that to you?”

“That was unavoidable. After all, my attitude towards you was so terrible before.” At this point, Roy’s gaze fell on the bruise around the girl’s neck, his tone becoming more apologetic: “And you can’t take all the blame; I’ve also done bad things to you.”

At that time, he had viewed Leanna as a potential enemy, a deadly menace; now that he knew her true feelings, he felt a wave of regret.

After making a fuss, he realized he had been battling with a mere illusion!

As the saying goes, you don’t hit a smiling face. If not for his overly awful attitude and repeatedly trampling on her goodwill, Leanna wouldn’t have resorted to controlling him with illusions… right?

The Daughter of Destiny and the ‘Wicked Boy Roy’, if they could discard these prejudiced identities and meet again, perhaps things wouldn’t have reached this point.

And right now, this was that opportunity.

“Of course, what you did with the illusion is still your fault, and I hope it doesn’t happen again. But I won’t blame you for it. So, how about we pretend everything before didn’t happen?”

The evening breeze passed, stirring Leanna’s delicate hair and the heart that had already sunk to the bottom.

Suddenly, the girl let out a light laugh.

Like a silver bell joyfully dancing in the evening wind, her laughter echoed endlessly.

“Junior Roy, you actually have a sweet side.”

“Where did this villain come from?”

“Ah, when we first met, you were totally wearing the face of an evil villain!” Leanna purposely brought up old matters.

Roy was poked at a sore spot, speechless: “Uh…”

Watching the boy’s distressed and aggrieved expression, Leanna’s mouth softened, and the intense bitterness gradually dissipated.

Her despicable and ruthless side had been exposed to him, and she couldn’t just pretend nothing had ever happened. However, she would never let go of the second chance Roy offered.

The taste of bitterness; she didn’t want to experience that again.

She still wanted him.

This time, though, she would use a way that wouldn’t make Roy dislike her.

Leanna leaned against the floor-to-ceiling window and got up again.

The moonlight blurred her gentle silhouette, enchanting the boy’s eyes.

“Junior Roy, would you like to join the student council and lend me a hand?”

After a dazed two seconds, Roy awkwardly looked away and muttered, “I guess I could consider it.”

“Of course, I’ll be waiting for you.”

Whether it was to ask Roy for help or what he needed, there was no rush. Leanna had plenty of time and patience before that.

But right now…

Leanna walked up to Roy: “Junior Roy, can you fulfill one more small wish of mine?”

“Eh?” Roy instinctively took a step back but was blocked by the desk.

The girl stopped just a fist’s distance away, a teasing smile on her lips, her eyes glimmering with mischief: “Just a small request.”

No, the more you say, the less it sounds like that! Roy felt she resembled a snake eagerly eyeing its prey, while he was the little mouse before her.

Staring into her beautifully delicate crystal-like eyes for a long time, he inadvertently caught sight of the bruise on her neck, and Roy finally let out a slight sigh.

“Go ahead.”

“My request is—”

Leanna suddenly leaned in.

The fragrance of the bellflower and her curvy body came rushing forward, almost making Roy’s heart stop in surprise, fearing he would be taken advantage of again.

But Leanna did nothing, just smiled face to face at him.

“Can you call me senior?”

This overly simple request left Roy feeling a bit amused: “That’s all you want?”

Leanna narrowed her eyes, intrigued, her lips parting in a fragrant smile: “Oh my, are you expecting something more exciting…?”

“Cough cough!”

After a slightly awkward cough, Roy finally whispered, “Leanna, senior.”

“Mm-hmm.” Leanna then stepped back a bit, seemingly savoring the boy’s call.

From this brand new title, their relationship officially started anew.

Watching her blissful smile, Roy’s mood lifted a bit, though he still sulked, “Are you satisfied now?”

Leanna shot him a glance, playfully tossing her hair under the shattered moonlight.

“No, it’s still too early.”
