Chapter 325

Chapter 31: Game Time Over

Outside the Student Council President’s office, Kreya was sneaking around the door, pressing her ear against it, desperate not to miss a single sound from inside.

Kreya was already used to the enigmatic nature of her president, but it became clear that Leanna was indeed a master tactician, skillfully manipulating minds and capable of running the Student Council all by herself, along with both factions of the Black Magic group.

However, this time, Kreya felt that Leanna’s game was downright outrageous.

Sure, gathering info from Roy’s inner circle wasn’t a bad idea, but the person she picked was way too close to him, right?!

Everyone at the academy knew how ambiguous Roy’s relationship with her maid was. If she wanted to steal a march, fine, but chatting with his current flame? Was she declaring war or what?!

Especially since Roy was already at the doorstep—how could he help Alice without leaving Kreya hanging?!

Kreya was terrified that an argument might ensue inside, and even more concerned that her president could end up at a disadvantage. Her heart raced, nearly leaping into her throat.

Then the door swung open.

Out stepped the blonde girl, leaving two others inside.

Kreya blinked in confusion and asked, “Miss Alice, what’s going on…?”

Alice’s voice was calm. “My master wishes to speak privately with the president.”

“Oh, I see.”

She said that, but Kreya was even more stunned.

No way! The president really went there? Roy just left his current girlfriend outside to get cozy with the president?!

Kreya cautiously glanced at the blonde girl and asked, “So, Miss Alice, you don’t mind, huh?”

Alice fell silent for a moment before responding in a seemingly carefree tone, “As a maid, I support my master’s decisions, no matter what.”

“Nothing to mind anyway. The president is dignified, elegant, and quite capable. As long as my master is happy, that’s all that matters.” At this point, the girl’s gaze dipped slightly, her eyes momentarily dimming before returning to normal.

Kreya didn’t notice the subtle shift in her demeanor; she just blinked, lost in shock.

Kreya hadn’t expected Alice to be so indifferent about her master’s romantic affairs. She certainly hadn’t anticipated Roy leaving his little maid behind to meet with his new flame, let alone the president actually making a move!

For a moment, she didn’t know whether to sympathize with Alice, curse Roy, or be happy for her president, and she could only sigh internally—what a chaotic world!

Of course, that was all Kreya’s wild imagination.

In reality, Roy sitting in front of the brown-haired girl had absolutely no romantic thoughts; he was fully prepared for battle and on high alert.

Meanwhile, Leanna lazily crossed her legs, revealing a glimpse of sheer black stockings beneath her skirt.

“Roy, aren’t you going to sit?”

“No thanks, I’m leaving right away.”

“What a pity, I was hoping to chat a little longer.”

Roy almost laughed out loud. “So you’re here to bother Alice so you could chat with me longer?”

Leanna chuckled softly. “Of course not.”

“I just wanted to get to know you better through other people.”

Looking at her flower-like smile, Roy felt increasingly irritated.

Does she really think I’m a three-year-old that can be easily tricked?

You can’t trust a word from a bad woman! If I hadn’t shown up in time, who knows what she would’ve done to my Alice!

Still, Roy gritted his teeth and kept the conversation going, even raising an eyebrow with a hint of teasing mockery. “Too bad, Alice probably didn’t say anything too useful.”

Alice knew exactly what to say and what not to say. Even if Leanna had some extraordinary methods, they would hardly work on Alice, who hailed from the lineage of Angels. So, Roy had complete confidence.

Surprisingly, Leanna responded with a light hum, “That’s not necessarily true.”

Leanna got up and fixed her purple eyes on him. “At least I know you much better than before.”

Her gaze was like stars in perpetual night, or crystals in the dark—impenetrable yet irresistibly enchanting.

Roy hated that look, but avoiding eye contact would only drain his energy, so he forced himself to glare back.

“Well then, what is it you think you know about me?”

“Well…”

Leanna pursed her red lips, closed her eyes, and pondered for a moment, counting off: “As a sworn knight of the royal family, you have no ambition for power. As a marquis’s offspring, you show no signs of noble extravagance…”

“Not even seeking strength; you only seek it for self-defense.”

Leanna turned back to him and suddenly began to stride forward, slowly closing the distance between them.

A flickering dangerous light danced in her elongated eyes, like a snake stealthily approaching from the darkness.

With her came a vague scent of bellflower.

Roy fought the instinct to step back and maintained his cold indifference.

“Not seeking power, wealth, or even strength—none of that is what you desire.”

Her slightly parted, glistening red lips, let out Leanna’s assertion: “What you truly crave is… affection.”

In that instant, Roy felt an unusual flutter in his heart as his gaze fixated on those captivating eyes, unable to look away.

He found himself murmuring, “Affection?”

Leanna gave a slight nod, affirming, “Exactly—affection.”

Roy’s expression wavered, appearing somewhat confused. “I…”

At that moment, Leanna stepped even closer, crossing the line that should not be crossed between them, nearly pressing her face against his.

At that instant, her previously smooth brown hair seemed to float like a dozen poisonous serpents, her once empty gaze now fiery with intensity, and the elegant demeanor she maintained finally revealed a cold smirk.

The laugh of a witch.

Alice hadn’t revealed anything about Roy’s bloodline abilities that he shouldn’t know; she merely recounted Roy’s past from her limited perspective.

Yet even that was enough for Leanna to deduce Roy’s character.

Initially, Leanna had merely wanted to utilize the power of the False King’s blood, but her interest in Roy had genuinely piqued over time.

Now she truly understood the black-haired boy sitting before her, and that made her desire him even more.

She wanted a loyal knight, a reliable partner, someone who would never betray her.

She wanted him.

“What you cherish most is nothing but companionship, but why seek it from those who don’t understand you?”

“What they can give, I can provide.”

Leanna extended her slender finger to tap Roy’s chin, moving it slightly upward as if admiring a treasured piece of art.

The boy’s gaze gradually lost focus, like a puppet on strings, slowly leaning in toward Leanna.

At that moment, Leanna could no longer contain her true purpose.

“So come on, become mine.”

Their figures drew closer, lips brushing against one another—

Until a flash of crimson flickered in the boy’s black eyes, returning to clarity.

In the next instant, as Leanna stared in shock, Roy exploded into motion, violently shaking off Leanna’s hand and seizing her throat, thrusting her forward roughly against the floor-to-ceiling window with a thud.

Looking into those eyes, now filled not with intrigue but shock, Roy smirked coldly. “Sorry, but your game is over.”
