Chapter 312
Of course, it wasn’t an easy task.
Simply looking at the internet of another world wasn’t difficult, but confirming a connection to that world based on it was a different matter altogether.
To put it metaphorically, it was like someone using remote access to connect to another computer trying to teleport into the room with the computer.
It’s not strange to think it might be physically impossible… but sadly, I had become a being capable of freely manipulating forces far removed from such physicality.
So, I investigated the connection to the other world.
The results were rather underwhelming, though.
The only thing I managed to gather was… that a connection to another world definitely existed. The connection was completely erratic in terms of time and space, but it did indeed exist.
I couldn’t even properly interfere with that connection. It was impossible to look at anything other than the internet.
At least I managed to… slightly extend that very thin connection.
If I thought of the existing connection as being as thick as a spider’s web, I could say it was now changed to something akin to a thin fishing line.
Of course, I had achieved no results aside from maintaining the connection… but considering it took a considerable amount of time to change even that… well…
There’s still a long way to go. Truly.
But since I was able to change it after such a long time, that’s good.
I succeeded in enhancing that connection with magical power.
If I slowly, very slowly change the connection to the other world… perhaps one day, I could create something like a door that connects to that side?
Fortunately, I had more than enough time. Whether it took hundreds, thousands, or tens of thousands of time units, I could manage it.
Even if I couldn’t directly cross over… I wanted to see a glimpse of the scenery of my homeland.

“Isn’t it truly remarkable?”
“What do you mean?”
“No, I mean this world.”
The man with black hair said as he petted the dog-eared girl sitting next to him.
“Even though it’s another world, we can communicate, the metric system is the same, and there are many similarities to that world.”
“That world?”
“Yeah. The world I originally came from.”
A world where I rode on a predetermined track since childhood, working non-stop for good grades, a good university, and a good job.
The end of such a world was due to a sleepy driver.
And so, the man who was dying cold after being hit by a car mysteriously opened his eyes in this world.
“Compared to that world, there are many lacking aspects, but this world also seems quite livable.”
“Really?”
“Yep. People like me who crossed over from another world receive a decent amount of living expenses for confirming a few things at the Church of Life once a month.”
Of course, it was slightly lacking for extravagance, but if spent wisely, it was plenty to last a month.
“And we can also do other jobs.”
“I see!”
The man with black hair petted the dog-eared girl once more.
Unlike the fierce and harsh life of that world, he could live a leisurely life in this world.
That alone made the man attach his heart to this world and live on.
“But still, sometimes I miss that world.”
This world lacked entertainment significantly. No internet or games.
Without computers or smartphones, there was nothing to explode with dopamine here.

And so, quite a bit of time passed.
In terms of perceived time… hmm, maybe around 300 years? I’m not sure since I mostly had my consciousness dormant.
Anyway, I slowly opened my eyes.
A dark room. My room prepared in the temple.
Seeing that it looked no different from before I fell asleep, it seemed no one had entered my room. Well, there was no reason for anyone to come in besides waking me up.
It looked like there hadn’t been any expectation of me waking up. Yep.
Thanks to that, I had a good rest. Probably due to the proper hibernation, my mind felt quite clear.
Right now, I felt like I could face any problem!
Thus, I opened the door to my room.
“Ah.”
I was confronted by armor made of strange rocks.
“…Arthur?”
“Oh, you’ve awoken? Master.”
What was this? Why was he here? Did I hibernate in the human world instead of my temple?
No, this is indeed my temple. But why is he here?
The place I awakened from hibernation is also my room in the temple, right? What the heck? What is going on? Did the Divine Hall crash down to the ground? Or did just my temple get separated and fall?
No way, that can’t be right. The Divine Hall wasn’t even built to be able to crash down. And even if it did, I would have awakened from the shock.
So, it’s not that my temple has fallen… hmm.
“Did you become a god?”
The only answer left other than Arthur ascending to godhood.
Arthur nodded slightly in response to my question.
“Yes, it took a little time, but… I gathered faith from the people of the Romania Empire and was able to become a god.”
“Gathering faith from the people, huh? Wow…”
Well, from the perspective of the commoners, Arthur must be quite an extraordinary existence. It wouldn’t be strange for them to harbor faith in him!
Just like how they might hold reverence towards the terrifying natural phenomena, it’s only natural to hold reverence for a great hero.
Just like one of the heroes from the Three Kingdoms who had acted in the other world, perhaps Arthur went through such deification as well.
But the fact that living Arthur gathered such faith… even if Arthur is an impressive person, it’s still a bit surprising.
“You collected that much faith while still alive?”
I couldn’t help but admire Arthur as I looked at him. If this was something that happened after death, it would be understandable. But to gather faith while still living…
“I disguised myself to appear as if I were dead by hiding my identity, and the people believed in me. Additionally, I repeatedly helped towns or cities in dangerous situations, which accelerated that faith.”
“You helped the people?”
“Yes. Be it monsters, natural phenomena, or beings that were gods in the past, I mercilessly dealt with anything that threatened the people and then disappeared like the wind, so the faith built up quickly.”
Hmm. Helping the people and disappearing. That’s quite heroic… If he did indeed provide such help, it would make sense for faith to accumulate.
To understand it better, let’s think from the people’s perspective. From the viewpoint of the commoners whose lives are threatened by fierce monsters.
Facing the danger of villages or cities collapsing due to strong monsters like wyverns or drakes, there would be no hope left for those commoners.
And then, Arthur appeared before those commoners. Or rather, they didn’t even know whether Arthur was who he truly was. They would just see someone clad in strange armor.
Anyway, if someone in bizarre armor suddenly appeared and wiped out the powerful monsters threatening them, then vanished like the breeze…
What thoughts would the commoners have upon witnessing such a scene?
“Indeed. It’s no wonder faith would accumulate.”
In my estimation, in the beginning, the commoners probably thought of Arthur as a potential threat since they didn’t know his identity or purpose.
An armed knight who could strike down powerful monsters might inherently carry great danger.
But as time passed and testimony of Arthur’s sightings gathered, and the characteristics of the armor he was known to wear matched those testimonies…
They would likely come to think that Arthur, who was said to have died long ago, had returned to save them.
Even though the resurrection magic that only the Dragon Priestess can use can only revive someone shortly after their death, they would think that somehow Arthur, who was believed to have died long ago, would come back to help them.
If that’s the case, how would those commoners feel about the help they received?
“Truly, the Sword Emperor Altirius III has come to save us as a being like a god!”
They might very well think that.
In reality, he had simply been wandering about without ever encountering death.
Anyway, as those rumors gathered, they likely transformed into faith in Arthur. Rather than the gods who merely lend their strength while looking down from the Divine Hall, they’d rather have faith in Arthur, who personally wielded his sword to save them.
After such a process of gathering faith, it seems Arthur has ascended to the Divine Hall.
“Honestly, I was just helping the endangered commoners, but they believed in me so well.”
“Even if you help them, those who don’t have faith in you would be quite ungrateful.”
Arthur smiled faintly at my words.
Given his reaction, it seems there might have been a fair number of such ungrateful people.
Seeing Arthur like that, I nodded slightly and looked around, then spoke to him.
“By the way, why are you in front of my room? As if you anticipated when I would come out… No, that can’t be, right?”
“It’s not that I particularly anticipated anything…”
Arthur spoke calmly. Hmm. Hmm… Just a thought, but…
“Wait, were you waiting in front of my room?”
I asked Arthur, half-expecting the answer. No way, with his sanity intact, would he do something so insane. Would he know when I would wake up?
No matter how much he had made armor from stones and had become fixated on me, his former master, and chased me to the Divine Hall, would he really do something like that?
To my question, Arthur subtly averted his gaze, avoiding the answer.
That alone was already an answer, though.
Hmm… I can’t figure it out. I really can’t understand Arthur’s thoughts.
How did he become this way… I simply couldn’t comprehend.
All I could do was let out a small sigh.
Is it okay for him to be such a god? Oh, people of the Romania Empire?
