Chapter 139: Alice is a Genius

In a corner of the banquet hall, the blonde maid held a knife and fork, but the food on her plate remained untouched.

Alice silently gazed at the black-haired boy in the distance, until she was jolted from her thoughts by a cat’s panicked cry. She turned just in time to see Choco spitting out the steak that Vanilla had yanked from her tail, realizing that her own food had been completely gobbled up.

“Seriously, if you want something, go get it yourself, meow!”

After scolding her silly sister, Vanilla turned to see Alice staring blankly at Roy again, as if she had lost interest in everything else, which made her frown.

“Alice, aren’t you going to accompany the young master?”

“The master said to let Alice relax in the banquet hall by herself.” The little maid paused, her gaze dropping as she whispered, “Besides, with Charlotte and Nia around, Alice doesn’t want to be a bother.”

“But…”

“There’s no ‘but’ about it. As a maid, you should listen to the master.”

“But it seems like your master is in trouble!”

Alice looked up to find the two girls arguing fiercely again, tugging at Roy.

Being clueless about love, Alice naturally didn’t understand words like ‘deadbeat’ or ‘triangle’, nor could she grasp the predicament Roy faced sandwiched between the two girls.

But Alice knew one thing for sure: Roy didn’t want them to fight over her, yet he seemed helpless.

As a maid, she had to do something at this moment!

Recognizing she couldn’t compete with the two girls, she quickly hatched a clever plan.

She grabbed the half-drunk coffee milk from Choco and marched straight toward Roy.

“Meow?! My milk! Where did my milk go?!” The black-haired cat girl wailed in anger as she returned with her plate.

“Roy, why don’t you tell this green tea who your ideal partner is?” Charlotte lifted her head, a nonchalant smile on her face, her eyes filled with anticipation.

Nia beside her shrugged, looking confident as well: “Tsk tsk, Bear Bear isn’t the brightest, but bursting with confidence, huh? Alright, Roy, just spill it.”

Seeing both of them so sure of victory, Roy’s mind suddenly flashed with a terrifying thought.

He was trying to persuade them to keep it low-key and take a temporary break, but these two seemed to have a serious misunderstanding about his intentions?!

“Roy, don’t mind this girl’s pride; just say it!”

“Exactly, it’s time to let this flat-chested princess know who the real loser is!”

Since the three of them were a bit away from the crowd, and everyone’s attention was on the academy director at the banquet center, nobody had noticed the unusual scene—at least not yet.

However, the director’s speech was nearing its end, and the awards ceremony for the top four in the Trial of Blue was about to begin. The two girls were pressing closer and closer, leaving Roy in a cold sweat.

He hadn’t even felt this anxious when facing a blood dragon or an evil god’s offspring.

It was one thing to have a private argument, but if they kept it up on stage, they’d embarrass themselves as princesses and the top girl!

Moreover, both girls valued this award ceremony greatly. If he favored one, it could worsen their future conflicts and make reconciliation even more difficult!

He had to handle this cautiously… but where was the time for that?!

The two girls were impatiently tugging at him, pulling him every which way. Roy didn’t want to shove them away, so he instinctively stepped back.

Turning around, Roy saw the little maid knocked over, a glass shattered beside her.

The three girls helped Roy up to the second floor to change clothes, and on the way, Charlotte and Nia kept their heads down, not daring to say a word.

After reaching the guest room on the second floor, Roy asked Charlotte and Nia to wait in the living room while he brought the little maid into the bedroom to change.

During the change, a maid came to inform him that the director was willing to wait for Roy to finish changing before proceeding with the ceremony.

But anyway, he could finally catch a breather and think carefully about what to do next!

At that moment, the little maid who was helping Roy take off his coat suddenly lowered her head and bowed deeply.

“Master, I’m sorry.”

“Hmm? It’s okay; it was just a little accident…”

“No, Alice did it on purpose.” The little maid interrupted Roy’s soothing words in a serious tone.

“Alice noticed the master seemed troubled, so I took this desperate measure.”

The blonde girl raised her head uncertainly and said, “Did Alice overstep?”

Roy paused for a moment before breaking into a grin: “No, you did great!”

You’re simply a genius!

In gratitude, Roy couldn’t help but cup her soft face with both hands, causing her voice to become muffled.

“Needle drop?”

“Really! You don’t need to apologize; I should be thanking you!”

Under Roy’s gentle fondling, the little maid comfortably squinted her eyes, showing a fluffy expression like that of cotton candy.

“But why do they always argue?” Alice sighed in confusion.

“Since they both like the master, can’t they get along?”

In response to the girl’s innocent thoughts, Roy could only reply with a wry smile.

His feelings for them were built on an equal relationship, not on possession due to status; getting them to accept each other’s existence would be incredibly difficult.

But dragging this on wasn’t a solution either.
