Chapter 276
Today, I’m doing a fun experiment in the Fourth World.
This isn’t an experiment related to Aliura. She’s being treated properly as a pregnant woman.
It’s a completely different experiment.
But it’s also connected to my experiments.
What’s it about, you ask?
Right now, an artificial human is kidnapping a little girl. And get this, it doesn’t even go through me, so the body has some genetic traits from its parents.
Plus, it’s grown all weirdly, with bulging muscles and a twisted, monstrous face. Its intelligence is pretty low too.
They went to a predetermined location to kidnap only little girls and brought them to a laboratory.
Strange, isn’t it?
If I look at Jeber’s memories, last time he just sent his subordinates to kidnap a child. But now, it feels like he’s acting as if he cares about the eyes of others around him.
Is he someone who considers the gaze of others?
He’s not even the power-hungry type, so what’s he preparing?
Even with these questions swirling, I have no way to resolve them, so I decide to just watch the experiment Jeber is conducting.
Underground of the laboratory.
It’s where I was summoned before.
And there’s a place for consuming offerings.
They brought the kidnapped child there using a poorly made artificial human. Then they checked the child’s condition with the artificial human.
Some of them were tossed into a grinder for not being virgins.
The sound of screaming and the squelching of something being crushed. And the sound of something oozing out.
Only the noise of machines continued. In the end, one child even fainted in fear.
But even the surviving children after the examination don’t have a bright future ahead.
They were knelt down in a place marked with a magic circle, with huge iron chains tied around their necks.
And in the middle of that.
There’s an artificial human made from a different person, not Bardrol like before.
Crying children are lined up around the artificial human.
The magic circle below is about 1% different but is a summoning magic circle from Yasle’s memories. Yes. Just like when I was summoned, and how demons were summoned, they are trying to call something new.
As Jeber recited incantations, the magic circle glowed.
Then the children in the magic circle began to scream and convulse uncontrollably. Their bodies squirmed as if they were in terrible pain, but despite the chains on them, it was as if their bodies were fixed in midair, twisting in place.
And then, Crack!
In an instant, all the children’s heads exploded.
This is my first time witnessing such a summoning spectacle.
The magic circle emitted a mix of red and purple light from the ground. Even without heads, the children stood in place, facing the processed artificial human in the center.
But there’s something that irritates me.
Why, no warmth is given?
Why not? They’re dead, right?
The light is disappearing, right?
Why don’t they give anything? Or is the one coming now taking it?
Suddenly, annoyance surged within me, but I continued to watch.
Gradually, the red light of the magic circle seeped into the corpses standing around the artificial human, while the purple light rose into the air like mist and transformed into a disc above the artificial human. But it looked like a dull dish, resembling something from a cheap 3D game.
Yasle’s memories describe that purple light as some sort of gateway.
And a red light, like chains, rose from the heads of the corpses, getting sucked into the center of the disc. Of course, it also looked like a poorly made 3D chain.
A moment later.
Something black started wrapping around and being pulled down from there. And after forcefully shoving it into the dish, it was wrapped around it.
This is why offerings are needed.
It’s a tool to draw out evil beings from the void. The purer and more innocent, the stronger and tougher the chains created.
Looks like it’s sort of like a rope.
By increasing the number of victims here, they can pull out something stronger.
And at the end of that, I was supposed to be there.
So as I watched curiously, soon the corpses fell to the ground.
Even without a head due to the iron chains binding the neck, they sprawled on the ground like flowers blooming, limbs extended outward.
And in the middle, the processed artificial human began to squirm.
The sensation of that harvesting was like some cold liquid flowing through the veins instead of blood. It feels as if the slippery sensation originating from the heart disappears with every pulse?
The purple light inside the artificial human was engulfed by a new white light from outside.
Compared to that purple light, the small white light looked like a plastic bullet next to a boulder, enveloping the purple light.
And it seemed like it was trying to devour the purple light.
At that moment, I felt something snag.
The warmth I was holding. It felt like it was sticking to my hand outside, pulling away my fingers one by one.
So, this is it?
It’s trying to steal my warmth?
I exerted my strength. The warmth is mine. Just like a bug, a warmth of that level came in and in an instant, the purple light turned black.
And the massive light began to nibble away at that piece.
[Something’s off about the offering.]
Overlaid with the girl’s voice was a voice that was neither male nor female, but seemingly echoing.
However, as soon as that voice was heard, Jeber activated the device.
Whoosh!
In an instant, metal needles pierced along the spine.
[Ahhhhhhhhhhh!]
A chilling scream erupted, but the tightly fixed body of the harvesting machine could squirm but not perform any other action.
After all, it had no limbs.
Then, thick mechanical arms came down from above and secured the head of the dish.
Then metal needles began to pierce the head.
[Ugh, ah, ah, ah!]
It emitted strange sounds like a broken radio.
Meanwhile, Jeber went to the monitors.
There were several monitors, and at first, only one screen was displaying a jumbled noise-like image. Then as it transitioned to the next screen, increasingly recognizable footage appeared.
According to Jeber’s memories, it was said that processing video of the monster’s memories is challenging.
In the end, a low-quality footage resembling an old film mixed with crackling noise appeared.
Jeber stared intently at the footage, which was barely recognizable.
[Gnaw, ugh, not, dead, me!]
In the meantime, the artificial human trembled while uttering strange words.
But I have no idea what it feels like. Now the connection with the harvesting artificial human was severed.
Seeing this, I realize the light contained within me is indeed true.
No.
If I think back, I did experience the same pain. Wasn’t it the same situation when I came here?
But it didn’t bother me at all.
Are they just tormented by the pain of the dish and its pleasures? Why suffer with brain-exploding stimuli? It’s someone else’s body anyway. Just because the dish is in pain doesn’t mean it’s damaging itself, right?
It’s a bit foolish.
As I contemplated this while watching, Jeber sat in front of the screen, carefully examining the sounds and images coming from it.
According to Jeber’s memories, this work is something that can’t be entrusted to the artificial humans.
If they look at those images for too long, the artificial humans would immediately become entranced or lose their sanity.
Jeber watched the footage for quite some time.
Sometimes he fast-forwarded, and other times watched it in real-time, repeating the process several times. It seemed that the delay in speed was due to the time it took to retrieve memories from the brain.
It felt like watching a video on slow internet while downloading it.
Then as time passed until the artificial human who was preparing the meal arrived to look for them.
He told them to wait a moment, then focused back on the video.
In the video, the owner of the memory was shown making a deal with a person, taking away something important in exchange for fulfilling the person’s wish.
And as if satisfied with what they received, they suddenly rose from their seat.
Then they turned off the video. As if to signify that the artificial human that had been babbling meaningless words had quieted down. It seemed he’d stopped extracting memories.
Stepping forward toward the slumped artificial human, Jeber spoke.
“My true name is Abrazin. A wicked demon that distorts the wishes of man. My name is Jeber Ibn Haideka. From now on, you shall be bound to me for eternity.”
Ah, I felt a sensation.
This. It’s not psychic ability.
I can’t comprehend it, but apparently, there exists a special type of being that listens to the commands of someone possessing their true name.
It’s said that demons or gods do that.
Abrazin is the true name of what’s inside there.
Having heard that name, it seems it has no choice but to obey the person who uttered it. And indeed, Abrazin, who resides within the artificial human, began to tremble and slowly raised its head.
How fascinating.
It seems such beings share emotions too.
Expressions filled with humiliation, despair, and horror.
“As you command, I shall follow.”
It uttered those words with a face that wouldn’t seem out of place if it immediately bit its lips.
“Let me go! I’ll grant you anything you desire! I’ll do anything, just not this, not this!”
Then suddenly, it screamed as if its personality had switched. It was filled with undeniable fear.
But instead of responding to that, Jeber spoke to the artificial human.
“Proceed with the sacrificial process for three days, and after passing the perception test, proceed with the conception process.”
Then the artificial human did exactly that.
For reference, the sacrificial process alternates pleasure and pain to strip away self-awareness, while the conception process creates a second generation that inherits the characteristics of that demon.
And Jeber left the laboratory saying he would have dinner.
Leaving behind the demon, who was pierced through its central nervous system, unable to think straight, screaming in agony.
A demon.
I’d like to create one or two as high harvesters.
