Chapter 271
Chapter 124: Alice is Here to Save You!
In front of the embassy of the Verdant Council, a petite blonde maid stood there.
Alice wasn’t planning to come, really.
Even though she was worried about her master, since he told her to wait patiently and not to worry, a maid should follow her master’s orders.
And besides, Charlotte had clearly said before that there was no need to worry about Roy; Alice couldn’t understand her sudden change of heart.
However, after spending days together, Charlotte had already figured out the little maid’s thought process.
Despite Alice’s seemingly expressionless face making it hard to guess her emotions, when it comes to Roy, her thoughts were surprisingly straightforward.
“Alice, calm down and listen to me.”
“Actually, Roy might be in danger right now.”
“Those elf descendants are all bad women—claiming to heal, but who can guarantee their true intentions?”
“But Nia isn’t a bad woman,” Alice pointed out.
“Eh, that’s hard to say. You see, so-called elf races have pure faces, but their insides are quite dirty,” Charlotte pulled out various illustrated materials and painted a vivid picture of this fearsome creature known as the ‘bad elf woman’ that left Alice utterly shocked.
“Alice, you wouldn’t want your master to be toyed with by a group of scantily clad, shameless servants, right?”
“Absolutely not!”
So, Alice finally showed up at the Verdant Council’s embassy, knocking on the door seriously as if stepping onto a battlefield.
After explaining her intentions, the servants of the Verdant Council looked troubled and used the excuse of him needing to recuperate, stating that Roy was not available for visitors.
But this time, Alice wasn’t falling for it.
Charlotte had said that her severely injured master might have already been restrained by the people of the Verdant Council, in a state of being unable to act freely.
“Is it really the master’s will that a devoted maid like me can’t even see him for a moment?” The girl squinted her cold eyes, radiating an unwavering aura.
This made the servants hesitate, whispering among themselves.
Honestly, she was Roy’s maid, and even if they had to force their way in, they couldn’t really stop her.
“Why don’t we just let her go in?”
“True, she’s not that princess that Lady Nia warned us about.”
Nia had instructed that if Roy’s maid insisted on seeing him, they could let her in, as long as that princess didn’t barge in.
After a moment of deliberation, the servants came to a compromise.
“Please come in, Mr. Roy is in the room on the top floor.”
Alice nodded slightly and resolutely climbed the staircase to the top floor, resembling a knight charging into a den of dragons to rescue a princess.
“Master, don’t worry, Alice is here to save you!”
————————
For these past two days of healing, Roy had only one word to describe it.
Joy.
The servants of the Verdant Council were treating him like a lord, taking care of every little thing. Not to mention the top-notch entertainment, with music performed by the finest bard and a dance by the elf maidens, allowing Roy to thoroughly experience the charm of the elf race.
At this moment, Roy sat in a spacious open banquet hall, enjoying a carefully prepared medicinal meal, accompanied by soft, elegant tunes, sharing dinner with the elven girl, lingering in the magic of this enchanting night.
After dinner, he took a sip of the refreshing herbal tea and couldn’t help but exclaim, “At this rate, if I stay a few more days, I might not want to go back.”
“As long as you wish, you can stay as long as you want!” Nia smiled radiantly.
“Not necessary though,” Roy chuckled wryly, then asked, “How long do I have to stay?”
Nia paused slightly, counting on her fingers for a few days: “Another two or three days, at least until you’re fully recovered.”
“What’s the rush? We specifically came here to accompany you, let’s stay a few more days,” the girl puffed up her cheeks, a bit displeased, and her small feet kicked out under the table.
“Well, that’s true…” Roy scratched his head, feeling a bit distressed. “But Alice is still waiting for me at home.”
The little maid was indeed pretty afraid of loneliness. He couldn’t leave her on her own for too long.
Upon hearing this, Nia puffed her cheeks even more.
“I already sent someone over to notify Alice, no need to worry!”
The evening breeze lightly brushed past, and the girl’s gaze softened, as if filled with morning dew.
She propped her chin up with one hand, extending her small hand, slender fingers gently stroking the back of Roy’s hand, her voice turning crisp and sweet.
“Can’t you rest a bit before accompanying me for a few more days~”
“Okay?”
That sweetness was enough to make Roy’s heart quiver slightly.
Nia already had a naturally pure and sweet face, but when she acted cute like this, it was something not everyone could resist.
Roy quickly diverted his gaze, flustered. “Y-you shouldn’t be like this! Just act normally!”
Nia giggled, looking mischievous, her voice even sweeter. “Oh? Do you like it this way?”
“N-no, just being normal is fine.”
“Oh, so you like the usual me, huh?”
“Uh… huh?” Roy felt like he was being trapped in her words.
“Alright, alright, now that we’re full, it’s time to get down to business. There’s just the final step left for today’s healing.”
Though he had taken quite a lot of medicine and healing food throughout the day, Roy knew that those were just supplementary. The real key still lay at night.
Nia needed to engage in skin-to-skin contact with him to replenish his life force using the source of the western wind.
Roy had to admit, this method was very effective. And considering his injuries hadn’t healed yet, he really needed a few more rounds of it.
The problem was, doing so wasn’t exactly good for his heart.
“Do we really need to go as far as last time?”
As soon as this question left his mouth, Nia’s smile instantly turned awkward.
“I asked my mom again later, and she said it’s not necessary.”
“Ah?! Then you…”
Nia clasped her hands together, grinning broadly: “I must have accidentally misinterpreted!”
A faint blush crept over her face, but she still managed to tease him: “What a shame, no do-overs.”
Roy shot her a sidelong glance, exasperated.
“But as a substitute, we have a new activity!”
Roy followed Nia back into the room, and upon seeing the aromatic-smoky chamber, he was dumbfounded.
Under the blue smoke, the hammock had been replaced with a small wooden bed covered in soft cushions. The nightstand was lined with towels and transparent liquids of various colors.
Nia rolled up her sleeves, excitedly declared, “Today we’re changing to a massage therapy! You’ll be completely satisfied!”
Having learned from the last experience, Nia had consulted her mother for advice, intending to take a gentler, more comfortable approach, trying to wear him down little by little!
Warm water cooking for me, essential oils pressing Roy!
But Roy couldn’t help but think of those not-so-reputable places from his previous life, feeling horrified.
Is this massage really a proper massage?!
Looking at Nia’s mischievous smile, he felt quite a bit of resistance.
“No, no, no, can’t I just sleep and recover slowly instead?”
“Shut up! Patients don’t have the right to choose their treatment options!”
“Tsk, I won’t, what are you gonna do…! Don’t tear my clothes off, you pervert!”
Nia, already in Sequence 7, moved frighteningly fast, and before he knew it, she had ripped off his top completely.
To defend his last shred of male dignity, Roy had no choice but to compromise, obediently lying down on the bed.
