Chapter 201
Chapter 54: Nia’s Intentions Are Not Just for Fun
By the time Roy returned, it was already deep into the night.
The academy was dimly lit, with only the street lamps flickering, lighting the way for the young boy heading home.
It was a bit chilly at night this season.
After running around all afternoon, saying I wasn’t hungry would be a lie.
I remembered Alice mentioning that we’d have potato stew with beef tonight.
Thinking of the delicious dinner Alice had prepared, Roy couldn’t help but swallow hard.
Cold and hungry, he unconsciously quickened his pace.
Having informed the patrolling teacher in advance, he was not challenged as he passed through.
Before long, he was back in his living area.
The familiar grass and flowerbeds came into view, and to his surprise, the small wooden house in the distance was not quiet; instead, it glowed with a warm orange light, outlining a cozy haven.
At this hour, was Alice still awake?
That girl, she couldn’t possibly be waiting for me to eat, could she?
With that thought, Roy couldn’t contain himself any longer and hurriedly dashed towards the house, pushing the door open.
As soon as he entered, he softened his steps.
He really couldn’t bear to interrupt the sweet scene before him.
The little maid, still wearing an apron, had her eyes closed, her head tilted like a fluffy, soft little puppy, resting on Nia’s shoulder, peacefully asleep.
The soft, tiny sounds of her breathing floated over, and without hesitation, one could guess how sweetly the little maid was dreaming.
Nia’s sleeping posture was completely different.
The girl hugged her golden-haired fluff tightly, her head bobbing slightly as she wore a goofy smile, with a silvery strand of drool trickling down the corner of her mouth, which made anyone unable to hold back a chuckle.
Under the warmth of the hearth, the scene of these two uniquely lovely girls, face to face, sleeping together, was as beautiful as a poetic painting.
Unfortunately, Roy had to wake them up.
He stepped closer, not wanting to be rude to the girls lost in slumber, and gently tapped on the table.
Nia jolted awake, shivering all over. Alice, meanwhile, squinted, sleepily raising her head.
Upon clearly seeing the young boy’s figure, green and light blue eyes twinkled with excitement.
Alice immediately got up, nearly tripping over Nia, and quickly dashed to Roy’s side.
“Master, welcome back!”
Perhaps she spoke too quickly or wasn’t fully awake; the girl’s voice was soft and a bit muddled.
“I told you not to wait for me, didn’t I?” Roy replied, somewhat helpless.
Usually, Alice was quite obedient, but recently, she had become increasingly persistent when it pertained to herself.
For instance, she insisted on making him breakfast every day and wouldn’t take a bath until he was done, no matter how he tried to convince her otherwise.
“Alice, you’re getting less obedient by the day,” Roy muttered under his breath, gently poking the girl’s smooth forehead, making her wobble.
“You didn’t wait and not eat, did you?”
“It’s okay, Alice isn’t hungry…”
Before she finished speaking, a loud gurgling noise came from her stomach.
The little maid shyly lowered her gaze, softly divulging her true feelings: “Because I want to eat with Master.”
“Is that not allowed?” She lifted her head again, her misty eyes filled with cautious pleading.
Being gazed at like that, Roy felt his heart melt; how could he possibly blame her?
“I can’t do anything about you. Hurry and get ready; I’ll help too.”
“Okay!”
Upon receiving Roy’s approval, Alice’s expression softened instantly, and she joyfully ran to the kitchen to get busy.
On the other side, Nia shot him a playful glance, teasing, “Tsk tsk, having such a good little maid must make you really happy.”
Roy admitted proudly, “Jealous, huh? Too bad, you don’t have one.”
“?” That audacious retort left Nia dumbfounded.
Dinner was already done; Alice just needed to reheat it.
Meanwhile, Roy took this opportunity to set the table.
Nia was in charge of keeping him company, which she claimed was giving him moral support.
But Roy thought she was just being lazy.
During this time, Nia suddenly stretched, her beautifully formed figure under her uniform becoming even more graceful in the light, and her soft curves seemed to stir the air.
Due to her poor sleeping posture, her collar was all messed up, revealing just a glimpse of her enticing curves.
With a pout, Nia cutely complained.
“Next time, can you please come back earlier? My chest is gonna starve flat!”
I really didn’t notice that, Roy thought to himself, but curiously asked, “You didn’t eat?”
Nia was a bona fide foodie, someone who even made Roy, a former native of the heavenly kingdom, feel ashamed.
He understood that the little maid following her principles was one thing, but Roy truly didn’t expect this foodie wouldn’t have eaten either.
Upon thinking it through, at this hour, Nia didn’t even need to stay behind; she could just eat and leave afterward.
But unexpectedly, Nia propped her chin on her hand and suddenly broke into a smile, as refreshing as a gentle breeze carrying the scent of flowers.
“Because I also want to eat with you~”
Roy’s hand trembled, nearly dropping the knife and fork.
But he quickly recalled her personality.
This girl often casually mentioned marriage; he couldn’t get too sentimental.
Roy smirked, “So, the true words are?”
Nia wiped that sweet smile away, drooling a bit, her eyes shining brightly as she said, “Eating together is just better!”
“……”
Determined to achieve a perfect dinner despite the hunger, Roy couldn’t help but feel a hint of respect for this foodie.
Soon, the steaming potato stew with beef was served on the table.
The beef was tender and aromatic, the potatoes creamy, and when dipped in the meat sauce with some bread, the combo was indescribably satisfying.
And the presence of the two beautiful girls at the table added a special flavor to the meal.
Alice stuck out her tongue, gently licking the meat sauce from her spoon, her eyes narrowed, appearing graceful and calm, her usual indifferent expression relaxing into a warm glow, almost melting in the moment.
Nia, on the other hand, was a bit more exuberant.
She hungrily speared a large piece of beef and popped it into her mouth, blissfully covering her cheeks as her eyes nearly sparkled, her long legs under the table stirring restlessly, literally ready to take off from the deliciousness.
Watching the two girls immersed in their meal, Roy found himself unintentionally finishing another bowl.
Nia wasn’t wrong; indeed, eating together was just better.
After nearly filling their stomachs, the dinner table naturally couldn’t avoid some small talk.
“Speaking of, the midterm exams are coming up soon.”
Nia suddenly remarked.
“Therefore…”
“So we need to study hard/go play!” Nia and Alice chorused.
They looked at each other, both perplexed.
“Wait a minute, why is your first thought about going to play when midterms are around the corner?” Roy couldn’t help but chuckle as he commented.
The midterm exams at the Magic Academy consisted of both written and practical parts, and neither was particularly easy.
Roy wasn’t worried about the practical, but when it came to the written part, even he couldn’t guarantee he’d pass without studying.
Nia seriously explained her flawed logic: “Oh, exams are done in batches, right? While others are taking tests, we aren’t having classes, which basically means a day off; can’t we go out and play then?”
“So while we’re on break, we might as well go to the city, right?”
As she spoke, her gaze was directly fixed on the young boy.
