Chapter 178
Chapter 31: Understanding
“I don’t understand what the teacher is saying.” Roy replied casually.
Sada’s face looked even worse.
From the signs in the room, she was certain that just a few minutes ago, there was another girl here besides Alice, but she just couldn’t find the third person!
“Kid, you better tell me where you hid her?!” Sada, unable to hold back any longer, glared at the boy and girl before her and unleashed the extraordinary energy of Sequence 7.
Faced with the dark and cold gaze of the black-haired female teacher, Roy stepped slightly forward, protecting Alice behind him.
The extraordinary aura of Sequence 7 was a bit too much for Alice right now.
“Teacher, please ease up. You’ve seen the room; I trust that as a highly respected teacher at the Academy of Magic, you wouldn’t slander an ordinary student without evidence,” Roy said, meeting Sada’s intimidating presence with a smirk.
Sada, upon hearing this, flinched slightly.
After a moment of silence, she finally held back her imposing aura.
“Conducting magic experiments without permission and damaging the dormitory will result in a warning and a one-point deduction from your credits!”
With that punishment left behind, Sada could only leave in anger without accomplishing anything.
Students like Charlotte, who excelled academically, cared a lot about their records and credits, but for Roy, as long as he wasn’t expelled, this minor punishment was nothing more than a scratch.
Once the black-haired teacher left, a distortion in the light at the corner of the living room finally revealed Nia’s figure.
“Phew! You scared the life out of me! I seriously thought I was gonna be caught by that old hag!” Nia patted her soft chest, letting out a long breath, still a bit shaken.
Sada probably would never have imagined that Nia, wrapped in a Cloud Cloak, was hiding right under her nose.
Both the Wind Hider and Cloud Cloak could conceal one’s presence, with the latter also hiding one’s figure and muffling sound. Under these conditions, even a standard Sequence 7 like Sada would be utterly helpless in finding her for a whole day.
Nia shot a grateful look at the boy, her gratitude spilling out, “It’s really thanks to you that I’m alive! Thanks a lot!”
“It’s getting late, I won’t disturb you any longer!”
Just as Nia was about to head out the door, Roy, noticing the gooey remnants trailing behind her feet, couldn’t help but speak up, “Are you sure you’re going back looking like that?”
“Huh?”
Earlier Nia had been too anxious about being caught by the teacher, but with Roy’s reminder, she suddenly realized how horrible she looked.
Her thin, revealing top, the flimsy white fabric, and the exposed skin were all covered with a layer of transparent gooeyness, making her look quite scandalous.
Nia’s face turned bright red, and she grabbed her cloak to cover her body, suddenly reminiscent of an ostrich.
“Hey! Don’t look over here!”
“Uh, my bad.” Roy turned away, forcibly trying to forget how the girl looked and maintaining his composure, “I can let you use my bathroom. You’d better clean up before you go.”
“……Thanks!”
Nia ended up being the first to take a shower that night, so the two of them no longer had to compete.
No girl would casually use a guy’s bathroom, but no girl would head out covered in slime either.
After quickly washing off the goo, Nia finally felt a relief after becoming clean and fresh again.
Just thinking of how she must have looked to others almost made her faint—
Wait, hadn’t she already been seen?! It’s one thing to be seen by Alice, but Roy is a boy!
She really lucked out this time!
Nia threw her head back, silently lamenting in the shower.
She definitely couldn’t wear the clothes ruined by the goo tonight.
So, after cleaning up, Nia put on the clothes Alice had lent her.
But she suddenly realized a serious problem.
Their sizes were way too different!
The skirt was okay, a bit loose but not falling off.
However, when she tried to wear Nia’s shirt, the buttons on the front popped off under the strain, hitting Alice right in front of her.
The blonde girl stared at the torn shirt in shock, her small head sinking into deep astonishment.
“Nia, what’s your bust size?”
Nia forced a laugh, “Uh, probably a C?”
She conveniently left out a number.
Even so, it left Alice, who had barely reached an A, completely at a loss, unable to find any clothes that would fit Nia.
After asking Roy for help, Nia finally donned a white shirt.
“Sorry, this is all I have.” Roy said with a bit of reluctance.
“It’s okay, it doesn’t matter,” Nia waved her hand dismissively, assessing herself and finding the outfit pretty fresh.
The girl in the white shirt with her long hair draped down emanated a soft scent. The shirt was incredibly loose on her, nearly covering her short skirt, with her smooth and soft thighs completely exposed.
At a glance, she resembled a sweet girl next door, charmingly pretty.
Roy escorted the elven girl to the door.
Maybe it was because she had just bathed, or perhaps the breeze under her skirt felt too cool, but Nia suddenly sneezed and shivered.
“Uh, should I find you another piece of clothing?”
“No need, this is fine… Ah-choo!”
Roy couldn’t bear to look anymore.
This girl had really been through enough today.
So he went to find a uniform jacket for her to put on.
“Is this still too cold?”
“Much better.”
Nia muttered, feeling the warmth under the jacket, looking at the boy’s concerned expression and suddenly feeling a bit bashful.
Just as Alice had said, this guy is really nice.
He didn’t even get mad when she scolded him so harshly before and even defended her in front of the teacher.
Thinking of it this way made Nia feel even more guilty.
She scratched her cheek, filled with remorse, “I’m really sorry for misunderstanding you before.”
“And you even saved my life! Let’s just say I owe you one!” Nia raised her voice, rolling up her sleeves, full of motivation, “Just ask me for anything I can do!”
“Even if you say that…”
Roy wasn’t looking for anything from her.
But a pure and beautiful girl offering herself like that made it a bit unavoidable for Roy’s thoughts to wander.
“Ah, that’s a bit suggestive.” Nia joked, crossing her arms and making a playful gesture.
Roy awkwardly coughed, “I didn’t say anything yet.”
“If you insist, I do actually have something I want to ask you.”
“Could you please keep an eye on Alice for me?”
Nia was strong herself and also a companion and classmate of Alice; her character was trustworthy. Now that her misunderstanding of Roy had been cleared, she could be considered half an ally.
Since Roy and Alice were not in the same class, having Nia look out for her would certainly make him feel more at ease.
“Of course, no problem… wait, is that it?” Nia found it a bit funny and quickly pressed on, “You don’t have any other requests?”
“This is enough.”
Glancing back at the blonde girl tidying up the room, Roy couldn’t help but smile, “With a good friend like you for Alice, I’m actually quite relieved.”
Looking at the gentleness and fondness on the boy’s face, Nia suddenly recalled the happy expression Alice had when talking about him, feeling a sense of realization wash over her.
It seems Roy really treasures that girl Alice.
