Chapter 108

Chapter 105: Gloomy

Falling from such a height, even Roy ended up with a few bruises.

After hastily applying some potion, he turned around to see Charlotte listlessly sitting on a rock, her eyes staring blankly into space, looking a bit pale.

What’s wrong with her?

Roy’s first thought was that Charlotte, being a girl, must feel uneasy about their current predicament.

But then he recalled the moment she slapped half the face off that dragon monster, and he figured he was overthinking it.

Charlotte was a ‘towering woman’; there was no way she was timid like some ordinary little sister!

“Why aren’t you applying the potion? Don’t you know how to use it?”

“How could I possibly…?” Charlotte shot him a resentful glance, and it seemed like she was about to explode.

“Do you want me to help you apply it?”

At this, Charlotte froze for a moment, her anger dissipating as she pushed the incident of losing the magic ring to the back of her mind. Her eyes flickered uncertainly, “Well… I guess you don’t have to.”

“But if you really want me to help…”

“I’ll do it; the sooner we get it done, the better,” Roy cheerfully interrupted Charlotte’s usual lead-up.

This reaction made it obvious she actually wanted him to!

As expected, when he took the [Green Magic Potion] from her hand, there was no hint of refusal. She even proactively took off her military jacket.

Underneath, Charlotte wore a fitted white blouse, and when she rolled up her sleeves, Roy could see multiple cuts and bruises on her delicate white arms.

Despite Roy’s best efforts to protect her, she still ended up hurt. It’s true that Charlotte was born of the Lionheart Kingdom; if an ordinary princess had injuries like hers, she would have been in tears by now.

However, when Roy smeared some sticky green potion onto her wound, Charlotte still shivered, her face contorting in pain.

“If it hurts, feel free to yell out, okay?” Roy cracked a joke.

“…Idiot.” Charlotte lowered her gaze, muttering under her breath.

This potion was icy and cool, more soothing than she had anticipated.

Rather than healing, Roy’s technique felt more like a massage, which tickled Charlotte to the point where she almost let out an embarrassing sound inappropriate for a princess.

She wasn’t a little kid afraid of pain! She couldn’t allow herself to look weak! Charlotte bit her lip and tightened her expression, maintaining the dignity and nobility of a princess.

The sight of her desperately trying to hold it together made Roy want to laugh.

Has this silly cat not noticed he’s already finished applying it?

“Are you really not in pain?”

“I told you it doesn’t hurt… meow!”

Suddenly, a tingle shot through her waist, and Charlotte jolted, her red hair standing on end, looking soft and almost ready to leap off the rock.

She quickly shrank back, gritting her teeth, and with great embarrassment glared at him, “What are you doing?!”

Roy grinned wide, “My hand just slipped; don’t mind it.”

“Where on earth did your hand slip when all my injuries are on my hands!”

In the past, Roy wouldn’t have dared act this way, but now they could easily joke around like this.

Charlotte grumbled but only lightly hit him a few times with her small fists.

She truly couldn’t bring herself to hit Roy.

But she couldn’t just concede like that!

Don’t think teasing this lady would be the end of it!

“Hey, keep going.”

“Keep going? Didn’t you notice it’s already done?” Roy chuckled.

“Done? The top is done, what about the bottom?”

Charlotte slightly turned around, propped herself on the rock, changed her sitting posture, kicked off her two short boots, and casually placed her long, slender black-stockinged legs right on Roy’s lap.

After the hard escape, her over-the-knee stockings were already torn, exposing some luxurious, delicate skin against her will, creating a kind of broken yet provocative beauty.

The graceful pose she had was now filled with allure.

Even Roy, faced with such a tempting view so close, felt flustered and parched.

This girl was surprisingly bold?!

If any of Charlotte’s die-hard fans from the royal capital saw this, he’d probably be chased to the ends of the universe.

Roy awkwardly glanced at her, “Are you sure?”

“Why not? If you’re going to help this lady with the potion, shouldn’t you be responsible until the end?” Charlotte raised an eyebrow.

Saying this, she reached down, hooked the edge of her over-the-knee stockings, and began to slowly pull them down, revealing her jade-like skin, delicate like water as the fabric gradually slipped away.

But even she couldn’t help but feel her cheeks burn with embarrassment from this bold move.

It was truly a case of taking down eight hundred while harming herself a thousand.

Roy was about to push back, but faced with such provocation, he gave in and said meaningfully, “Alright, since we’re doing this, remember, if it hurts, you can scream out, okay?”

Charlotte immediately burst into laughter, “What silly talk! This lady would never…!”

The moment Roy’s hands made contact, Charlotte regretted it instantly.

The cool sensation traveling up her calves felt incredibly soothing, like a gentle breeze, causing her defenses to crumble in an instant.

And that was only the beginning.

Starting with her slim calves, then her tender knees, moving up to her slightly glistening full thighs.

The delicate skin that had been hidden under the black stockings was now being touched by a man for the first time.

Charlotte could no longer maintain her earlier composure, sputtering and fidgeting, and through her tightly clenched teeth, soft moans continuously escaped her.

She had underestimated this.

This was not a mutual demise; it clearly was a case of taking down eight hundred while hurting herself a thousand!

But she didn’t hate it.

Roy’s expression was serious; instead of his usual nonchalance, it was clear he treated her like fragile porcelain.

If his hands were caressing her skin, this appearance was soothing Charlotte’s inner self, stirring her heart.

This guy, even though it seemed like it was his first time, was surprisingly skilled.

The gentle breeze in the forest danced, the sun shone warmly, and under the soft profile of the youth, Charlotte began to lose herself.

Everything from his tolerance to her drunken antics, to his selfless protection during danger, to this soft care at this moment, made it impossible for her to extricate herself, sinking deeper and deeper.

Yet, this very boy had brought her to this precarious state.

Charlotte wasn’t stupid. Even while joking and playing around, she understood how dangerous their situation was now.

They had no idea when reinforcements would arrive, Rio and the [Evil Dragon Society] were still on their trail, and the Golden-Winged Griffin was too injured to fly. Things couldn’t get worse.

If it weren’t for Rio, Roy, being the marquis’s son, would already be on his way home. How had it come to this?

“I’m sorry.”

Hearing this, Roy paused.

Charlotte always told him not to apologize and to stay confident.

This was the first time he heard this proud princess apologize so earnestly.

“It’s my responsibility regarding Rio. If I had noticed his scheme earlier—no, if I had seen his desire for the throne sooner, you wouldn’t have ended up lost like this.” Her tone was tinged with bitterness.

Roy looked up.

The clouds drifted, casting a shadow over Charlotte’s head, obscuring her expression.

He hated the gloomy look on the girl’s face.
