Chapter 679

Chapter 110: Feast of Frenzy

“Swish!”

The pitch-black magical light sliced through “Jeremy’s” body like an unstoppable blade, cleaving him in half and causing him to crash to the ground.

However, that grotesque Black and White Mask did not lose its vitality; even with only half a body left, gradually turning into a black, viscous liquid, it continued to laugh manically.

“What a pity, what a pity, what a pity, hehehe! I was initially planning to reward the lucky one who could solve the mystery by making them my next vessel, but instead, I encountered such a stubborn monster, teehee!!!”

The girl walked step by step towards him.

A storm of swirling magical power surrounded Miss White Fox, visible like a tangible force, as her snow-white hair danced in the air, creating an overwhelming pressure that nearly crushed Jeremy’s severed body into the ground.

“Stubborn? In the end, you’re just a temporary being created by sneaking in some spirit; you can’t even count as an incarnation or a divine descent, and you’re restricted by the strength of the host. Do you really think you can cause chaos at this level? Don’t you think you’re underestimating us a bit too much, dear God?”

“Oh my! You really understand, little fox! It seems this isn’t your first time dealing with our kind, huh? Let me guess, are you perhaps a messenger for some old geezer? Or… could it be that you’re a minion of that light deity?”

“Uh… no, no, you two’s powers are completely different! Although I’ve never seen either of you before, hehehe, this is interesting~”

As if lost in its own world, the Black and White Mask, pressed to the ground, kept morphing its grotesque expressions while chattering incessantly in a sharp, irritating voice.

“Strange, strange… Isn’t that guy Exmont said to be in this city? Why can’t I find him even though he appeared earlier? Instead, here comes a ridiculously strong little fox?”

Unnoticed, Vilyric furrowed her brow slightly.

“What nonsense is this? Who are you actually looking for?”

“Hehehe, who could it possibly be~”

Like droplets seeping into the soil, Jeremy’s body, severed by the light beam, slowly melted into black filth, gradually integrating into the ground, leaving only that Black and White Mask, representing the will of a god, slowly rising to float, facing the girl wearing a similar fox mask.

“What a pity, what a pity, it’s such a shame! If it weren’t for the annoying world barrier, I’d love to have some fun with you, little fox, but alas, it seems my grand entrance must end here~”

The Black and White Mask displayed an expression of “regret,” which quickly transformed into hysterical laughter!

“But! The final act must certainly be engaging and spectacular! Hahahahahahahaha!!!”

Accompanied by Musk’s maniacal laughter, a resounding rumbling erupted from the ground where Jeremy’s remains had merged!

“Huh?”

Before Miss White Fox could react, the courtyard’s floor suddenly cracked open, ancient trees fell, stone pavilions collapsed, and the serene, clear spring transformed into a whirlpool sucking everything underground, only to then burst forth with scorching, surging black flames!

Centuries-old buildings were instantly consumed by the black fire, and a towering, crazed giant of flames shot up into the sky, wearing an oversized Black and White Mask, emitting ear-piercing howls!

“Come, little fox! If you don’t want this mortal city to be destroyed, come and stop me, hahahahaha!!!”

“Ugh… Using the energy beneath Mingguang City to launch a suicidal attack due to insufficient power? What a lunatic.”

Floating in the sky, the immaculate Miss White Fox looked down at the street below.

The hundred-meter-tall flame giant appeared suddenly in the city, naturally causing horrific chaos and a collapse of order.

While the Temple Knights, who were originally spread out across the streets to hunt the Faceless One, quickly reacted by organizing a civilian evacuation and maintaining order, many others, like moths drawn to the flame, rushed towards the scene from all directions, likely hoping to conquer the culprit of this chaos.

But that was just sending themselves to their doom.

If Vilyric guessed correctly, the rule power of this “Pseudo-Mask and God of Frenzy” was akin to “mimicry” or “assimilation.”

Their “frenzy” didn’t simply refer to madness of the mind, but rather a conceptual form of chaos. It was somewhat similar to the Frenzied Spirit Sylvania had conjured with special means during the Mountains of Ten Thousand Demons, but at a level far superior, capable of even corrupting elemental energy, causing it to rise in chaos.

This familiar black flame giant before her was undoubtedly a product of the fusion of those two powers; however, Musk’s divine power entering this world was limited. Even with the aid of the earth’s veins, it could only be stirred to this extent.

Vilyric could clearly sense that the world’s pressure had descended once again, as the actions of the “Pseudo-Mask and God of Frenzy” were akin to directly bleeding the veins of the world, naturally provoking a strong backlash.

If left unchecked, this fellow’s divine consciousness would surely be forcibly sent back to its original body in due time.

But before that…

Though it seemed trivial to the Priestess, the elemental creature summoned near self-destruction by divine intent could already easily reach the level of a Pseudo-God, even nearing that of a demigod.

Vilyric wasn’t sure whether the artifact “Crown of Uncrowned” would allow the peak Saint of Bright Light to contend against it, but by the time she arrived, the impending devastation would already be enough to tear the city apart.

With mad laughter, the black giant made no move to attack the floating White Fox girl; instead, its fists, ablaze with black flames, swung down directly at the countless fleeing beings below, as if swatting at a swarm of insignificant ants!

“Hehehehahahahahaha, die, all of you!!!!”

“Ugh…”

The girl’s red and white priestess sleeves swayed, and dazzling, jet-black gemstones, shimmering like raw jade, shot forth to meet the horrifying fiery fist below, spreading an intangible barrier to block it, erupting a shower of black sparks into the sky!

In her mind, Little Dragon Daughter had sent a continuous stream of intense messages, clearly sensing the enormous changes in the city and the fact that Vilyric was battling something, eager to rush over and help right away.

But the Priestess merely sent the thought back to her pet to “hold your ground,” and once again focused her attention on her adversary.

To Vilyric, the Pseudo-God wasn’t necessarily a formidable enemy, but if it operated on godly will and possessed various bizarre means far exceeding this level, all while in such a densely populated city, naturally, simplistic and crude methods wouldn’t suffice to deal with it casually.

The “Pseudo-Mask and God of Frenzy” was evidently confident that the White Fox would protect the civilians, deliberately choosing to launch an attack this way.

Sure enough, seeing Vilyric block its fist, although the magic of the Demon God Jewel instantly shredded a good portion of the fire giant’s arm, new black flames spouted from the ground and restored it to its former state, Musk’s mask smiled rather than showed surprise.

“Hehehe, just as I thought! You, like that Vilyric, are also aligned with order… Hehehe! Order side! Order side is good, hehehehe!!!”

“…Vilyric?”

Unaware, or rather, completely unconcerned with Miss White Fox’s suddenly odd murmurs, the incarnation of the chaotic god, fully immersed in joy, launched yet another frenzied attack!

“Hehehehehe! Who cares, let’s play! Anyone can join, come play together, hahahahaha!!!!”
