Chapter 382

Chapter Thirteen: If You’re Hit, You Should Hit Back—That’s Reasonable

Ever since she crossed over to this world in the guise of Miss Vilyric, she had encountered many different kinds of people. This body was exceptional in every aspect; its appearance was exactly what Vilyric had crafted with her own hands over several hours. Whether it was charm, looks, or figure, everything was on point.

She was well aware of the immense allure this petite girl’s physique held for the opposite sex, especially when faced with certain enthusiasts of unique tastes.

However, understanding didn’t mean that Vilyric could accept it.

Due to the memories from Blue Star, the Priestess currently felt nothing beyond friendship towards males, at most.

Thus, already feeling irritated by the rough actions of the other party, Vilyric’s tone became even more mocking.

“Where I want to go is none of your business!”

“How dare you!”

Before the oily, middle-aged man in casual clothes could say anything, a soldier nearby shouted angrily, thrusting his spear towards the Priestess, the tip mere centimeters from her white robe-covered chest.

“Oh… I should take your actions to mean it’s an attack, right?”

“Shut up! Raise your hands!”

Thinking this would certainly be enough to intimidate the girl who looked no more than fifteen or sixteen, to his surprise, she didn’t even spare a glance at the spear that could easily pierce her body; rather, she had the time to turn and shake her head at another blonde girl beside her, whose expression was one of displeasure.

“Don’t rush.”

Vilyric smiled.

She could see that this soldier was merely trying to butter up the man with the made-up face, thinking the Priestess, being small and unarmed, would be easy to bully.

Classic, indeed.

Honestly, after this series of events early in the morning, the Priestess’s previously favorable impression of Demon Town, gained through Liliya, was quickly fading.

This was beyond mere “racial discrimination,” you should know that the guests at the inn were all proper humans.

“So, what do you want?”

Vilyric asked calmly, her expression unchanged, merely returning the question because the man continued to block her way, and the soldier’s violent actions were not being stopped, but were being added to by even more guards who surrounded them in the corridor.

“I told you to put your hands…”

“Hey, hey, let’s not be so rough with a beautiful girl~”

Nonchalantly retracting his gaze from the black-haired girl, the man slowly pulled out a scroll stamped with a seal and deliberately opened it in front of Vilyric.

“I should be the one asking you this, miss. We have already explained the situation clearly; I, the demon hunter Alvins, am leading a team to search for the vicious and cunning demons. Here is the search warrant; everyone in Demon Town must comply with the investigation. You know it’s wrong, are you disregarding the kingdom’s laws, or do you happen to be one of the intruders?”

“What, what! She’s a magical beast!?”

With these words, the onlooking travelers displayed alarm and hurriedly stepped back. The soldier who had pointed his spear at the Priestess even trembled, instinctively pushing the tip forward, pressing it against the delicate-looking white robe of the black-haired girl, causing her brow to furrow slightly, icy glints flashing through her silver-blue eyes.

In an instant, aside from the soldiers who had quickly surrounded them, only Vilyric and the other six girls remained.

“Ha…”

What a big hat to throw her way, accusing her of despising the law and being suspected of being a magical beast. While Alvins’ words weren’t entirely wrong in a sense, this situation was also intentionally stirred up by Vilyric…

It had been a while since she had last fought; she couldn’t believe someone had mistaken her for a gentle, righteous partner. Vilyric was not some Life Goddess!

“Leila, go check us out and pack our things; we’re leaving.”

The winged girl, who was kind-hearted but clever, had served this lady for quite some time and immediately understood her true intention upon hearing the Priestess’s words. She smiled and nodded eagerly.

“Yes, Lady Vilyric. And if any unseeing people try to cause trouble…”

Without even acknowledging Alvins, whose face was turning increasingly grim, the corners of the Priestess’s mouth curled up in delight.

“You just said they were causing trouble. Do I really need to teach you how to handle them?”

“Yes, Leila understands.”

Afterward, the winged girl, dressed in a brand-new sky-blue dress she had just bought yesterday to match her sister’s outfit, set off toward the blocked stairs to the second floor with a natural expression.

Their series of actions, which basically ignored their surroundings, undoubtedly angered Alvins and the soldiers accompanying him.

“This is rebellion… they are openly defying the search warrant. These women are definitely spies sent by magical beasts! Capture them all!”

“Yes!”

Some soldiers stepped forward, thrusting their spears toward the approaching Leila, attempting to incapacitate her.

However, with the wind kicking up, before anyone could grasp the situation, those armored men were sent flying back like cannonballs, crashing into rooms they had ransacked, which stirred up a series of screams!

As is often the case, once things started getting physical and blood was shed, the onlookers instantly descended into panic, desperately trying to escape. This place was no exception.

“Ah, ah, ah! They’re fighting! Someone’s attacking the army!!!”

Leila had just taken down a few soldiers when the entire inn fell into chaos. The guests on the second floor shrank back into their rooms, while those downstairs fled in a frenzy.

“Don’t run! Everyone stay calm! Dammit, attack! Capture these women! If they resist fiercely, kill on the spot!”

“Yes… yes!”

The soldier who had been the first to respond and brandish his spear at Vilyric was given the order. A ruthless look flashed across his face, and he mercilessly lunged forward with his weapon, swift and vicious as if he was all too used to this kind of situation.

Then, he found himself staring into a pair of icy silver-blue eyes.

While Alvins barked orders, he quietly moved backward, but before he could take a few steps, a figure whizzed past his ear, crashing hard against the wall of the second floor, producing a loud thud.

“What?!”

Upon looking closely, he realized it was the soldier who had just tried to kill the black-haired girl!

The fellow’s chest plate had caved in, clearly showing a small shoeprint, and he was smashed into the wall, body contorted like a lump of dough, with an expression still etched with intense horror.

As a human, there was no doubt he was doomed.

“What’s wrong, making such a racket and being the first to flee? You demon hunter doesn’t seem very impressive; do you lack the courage to fight?”

The girl’s clear voice sounded nearby, like a devil’s whisper. Alvins turned in disbelief and saw the previously timid black-haired girl approaching him expressionlessly, casually throwing the spear, twisted like a pretzel, disdainfully on the ground.

Beside her, the other women were mercilessly beating the soldiers she brought, creating a cacophony of anguished cries.

“What do you want?! I’m on official duty! Openly attacking the military, there’ll be no place for you in Demon Town… nor the entire United Kingdom!”

Unlike Alvins’s oppressive bravado, Vilyric instead found it amusing and smirked.

“Huh? Weren’t you just accusing me of being a spy for the magical beasts? Why now use the United Kingdom to threaten me? As a magical beast, do you think I need a place in this country?”

“You… you crazy woman! What benefits do you think this will bring you? Making such a big scene, do you think you can still escape?!”

“Benefits, huh…”

The black-haired girl pondered, tapping her lip thoughtfully, seeming to deeply consider the question.

“Indeed, can you tell me what benefit a group of poachers disguised as soldiers of the kingdom might have?”
