Chapter 323
Chapter 128: Depravity
What in the world is that?
For a moment, Miss Vilyric found it difficult to provide a clear description or judgment.
The Abyss Beast was already one of the most disgusting and grotesque creatures that the Priestess had ever seen, but compared to this thing, it was simply child’s play.
First of all, it had seven arms.
Not in a symmetrical shape, but all crooked and twisted, like they had been haphazardly glued together on the upper half of its body, with two even growing from its chest and back.
Those seven hands were clearly not of the same design; in fact, they were completely different from one another.
Some were standard human arms, some were claws of magical beasts, some looked like horse hooves, others resembled wings, and some had sharp hooks like the Abyss Beasts—quite the chaotic mix gathered on the same body.
Its body was split in half at the center, each half supporting a different head—one resembling a bird’s, the other looking like a human head, complete with long hair.
The split below converged into a giant mouth full of sharp teeth, resembling the terrifying maw of an Abyss Beast when it devours food, but this one was even more discomforting on a physiological level.
The creature’s lower half was even weirder, with eight different-length legs splitting like a spider’s, and dragging behind it was a tail covered in barbs.
This was beyond ugly or gross; it was pure and utter mental pollution. Any rational being seeing it would wish to reduce it to ashes immediately.
Its very existence was a defilement of the concept of life itself, a defilement of this world.
Yes, it was depravity, true depravity.
The name “Depraved Being” naturally appeared in everyone’s mind, including Vilyric’s, upon seeing the monster, as if the world itself had defined it under this title.
When the creature identified as the Depraved Being broke free from its cocoon, its body was still covered in sticky liquid, and the surface, resembling the shell of an Abyss Beast, was somewhat soft. But within just a few seconds, it quickly dried and hardened, even growing sharp barbs.
It seemed that emerging early from the cocoon had not affected it much.
The Depraved Being stood up awkwardly, its bird head and human head both swiveling to look at the people present, the human face sporting a nauseating grin that spread across most of its face, just as it was about to speak.
“Boom!!!”
A burst of crimson flames suddenly descended upon it, enveloping the creature and igniting every corner of its body without a doubt.
“Ahhhhhhh!!!”
The abomination let out a shrill roar so piercing it felt like it could faint from the sound, rolling desperately on the ground, yet the flames filled with high temperature and divine power could not be extinguished.
In just a few seconds, this strange and malevolent creature was utterly reduced to ashes, disappearing into the air.
“Uh?”
The already alert Sigrid and the others looked back in confusion, only to see the black-haired Priestess holding a crimson staff, her face twisted in disdain.
“If you’re going to be that ugly, you might as well not show your face. Were you planning to perform some kind of arts? It would be a crime not to eliminate you.”
Captain Miss’s lips twitched violently.
“Vilyric, didn’t you say you were a Priestess with no combat abilities?”
“Hm? That’s right, so I didn’t fight; I was just acting in accordance with justice. You saw that guy didn’t even fight back, right?”
This was some forced reasoning!
Sigrid was just about to say more when suddenly a series of popping sounds like bursting fruit erupted in the room, and those flesh eggs containing something began to explode one after another!
Liquid splattered everywhere, and out jumped things covered in sticky substances.
They were all horrific “Depraved Beings,” pieced together with mismatched bodies.
“Hihihihihihi!!!”
“Hehehehehe!!!”
“Chop, chop! Eat them up, heeheehee!!”
“Hihihihi, their wings are so beautiful, I want them, heeheehee!!!”
The Depraved Beings screeched with voices so cacophonous they defied description, sounding like a sonic attack, clearly possessing linguistic ability, but Vilyric felt no intent of communication from them.
Moreover, she had no intention of talking to these disgusting creatures; merely seeing them was already a great torture for her eyes.
Thus, the Priestess chose to turn around and look at the beautiful white-feathered girl behind her.
“Sigrid, what should we do? They seem to have been attracted by that moment of yours.”
“??? ”
The captain tightly gripped her gun, immediately firing back in retort.
“I admit that was a bit impulsive, but come on, Vilyric, your fire was much louder, wasn’t it?!”
“No, no, no, even if I take 99% of the responsibility, can you really say you have no part in this, at least 1%?”
“What kind of nonsense is this?!”
“Master, they’re coming!”
The Depraved Beings wouldn’t give Vilyric and the others time to chat slowly; as soon as they broke free from their cocoons, they began to creep closer in various bizarre and unpredictable ways, cackling and jumping, even launching long-range attacks.
“Whoosh!”
As a warning sounded, the Little Dragon Daughter transformed her small hand into a dragon claw, slashing through the air like lightning. Several Depraved Beings more than ten meters away were instantly cut apart like rag dolls, falling to the ground as useless pieces.
However, even so, those pieces immediately began to twitch and reassemble, turning back into their original forms.
No, they didn’t fully restore; the limbs and heads were completely mismatched, and even multiple Depraved Beings’ body parts had intermingled together!?
“Wow, that’s just disgusting!”
“Eek, hihihihihi!!!”
Amidst the enemies’ cackles, Sigrid fearlessly spread her wings and charged towards one of the Depraved Beings, clashing against its blade-like arm.
But to the shock of most present, Sigrid, the legendary winged heroine, was actually sent flying back, overpowered by this creature in pure strength!
“?!”
With a flap of her wings, the girl barely stabilized herself beside her teammates, her expression darkened.
As the person directly involved, her experience was the most profound. Seeing how easily Vilyric had burned one enemy, Sigrid thought these were simply elite monsters stronger than ordinary Abyss Beasts; after all, there were dozens of them—how formidable could they be?
In reality, it was far from the truth.
This sensation of being completely overpowered was something Sigrid had only experienced with one person.
The Wing Emperor, Aistini.
