Chapter 308

Chapter 113: Fleidetrika Cecelia

The Priestess and the Judging Saintess stared at each other for a long while without speaking. Seeing the awkwardness, Edwina quickly stepped in between them and took her sister’s hand.

In a rather nauseating tone, she uttered a rather sticky voice.

“Fi-Fi sister, what brings you here~”

???

Is this really the voice that comes out of Edwina’s mouth?

“Hehe, of course I had to come and greet my lovely little Nana.”

Wow… this is really gross! “Little Nana”? Why does their sisterly interaction feel so bizarre?

Fortunately, Edwina didn’t maintain that strange tone for long. After letting Fleidetrika pet her head, she changed the subject.

“Now, Fi-Fi sister, let me introduce you. This is Miss Vilyric, the one I mentioned before, so you’d better mind your attitude.”

“Miss Vilyric, this is my sister Fleidetrika.”

With Edwina acting as a buffer, the previously awkward atmosphere improved significantly, and both sides nodded in acknowledgment.

“Hello, I am Fleidetrika Cecelia. Thank you for taking care of little Nana during this time.”

When speaking to outsiders, Fleidetrika seemed quite normal, not behaving in a high and mighty manner due to her status, and she didn’t even mention the words “Judging Saintess.”

“Oh, it was nothing. This child caught my eye; otherwise, I wouldn’t bother with a typical person.”

Vilyric didn’t decline the thanks; she had indeed taken care of Edwina a lot. If the Priestess hadn’t arrived in time during the Forgotten Land incident, this Holy Knight would probably have met her end.

The two engaged in casual conversation.

Fleidetrika was nearly ten years older than Edwina and had both a sisterly and maternal presence. It seemed their mother, Jacqueline Cecelia, the current leader of the Cecelia Family, was often busy and rarely home. Growing up, aside from the maids, Edwina had the most contact with her sister, Fleidetrika.

However, compared to Edwina, who was clearly not mature enough in many respects, the Judging Saintess exhibited far superior expression, demeanor, and adaptability, yet still possessed the vitality of youth.

Overall, chatting with her wasn’t dull at all.

During the gaps in conversation, the Priestess quietly directed her gaze toward the unusual long sword hanging at Fleidetrika’s waist.

This should be the well-known, highly regarded Arbitration Sword, one of the three sacred artifacts of the Holy Kingdom.

Just looking at the exposed hilt, it clearly was not the typical style of sword one might find in this world; it resembled a ceremonial Western long sword, adorned with many exquisite jewels, appearing quite flashy.

However, perhaps due to the suppressive aura of the sword’s sheath, even at such a close distance, Vilyric couldn’t accurately judge what level of weapon the Arbitration Sword was.

What a pity.

In this situation, it wouldn’t be appropriate to ask a newcomer to show her heritage artifact that represented her identity.

As the atmosphere grew thicker, Fleidetrika suddenly brought up a certain topic.

“Speaking of which, little Nana unexpectedly awakened her God-given bloodline during this trip. But when I asked her about it, she hesitated to speak up. Miss Vilyric, do you have any idea?”

“Fi-Fi sister, I told you not to ask that!”

Edwina tugged at her sister’s sleeve in annoyance, yet the Judging Saintess remained seemingly oblivious and just smiled at Vilyric.

God-given bloodline?

The Priestess glanced at the sisters’ nearly identical crystal-clear golden hair. Though she had a rough idea, she confirmed cautiously, “What is a God-given bloodline?”

“Eh, you don’t know?”

Fleidetrika looked a bit surprised, while Edwina’s expression darkened for some reason, and she lowered her head, saying nothing.

The Saintess reached out, politely taking two transparent crystal cups filled with a light red liquid from a passing attendant, gently handing one to Vilyric.

“It’s a low-alcohol fruit wine. Uh… Miss Vilyric should be of drinking age, right?”

The black-haired girl smiled but did not answer. She simply picked it up, took a sip of the cool, sweet liquid with a slight kick, and then downed it all!

On Blue Star, she’d at least had some alcohol before. While it couldn’t be considered a hobby, drinking occasionally wasn’t harmful. This divine body was exceptionally resilient; alcohol, even poison, barely had any effect when consumed.

All food would completely break down into energy, leaving no scraps, and aside from excess water, there was no need for excretion. Sometimes, Vilyric really wanted to see what her body looked like internally.

Sure enough, the cool wine went down without causing Vilyric any discomfort, and Fleidetrika laughed heartily.

“Bold! No wonder you’re someone little Nana praises, ha! Really, conversations can’t go without some drinks… Actually, the so-called awakening of the God-given bloodline is a further purification, or one could say, sublimation of the three divine bloodline families.”

“Breaking free from human shackles, becoming more… well, you can understand it as an enhancement of strength and talent. Meanwhile, our Cecelia Family’s most typical mark is here.”

Fleidetrika swept aside a strand of her crystal-clear golden hair, her expression becoming solemn and serious. Only at this moment did she resemble a devout believer of the gods.

“This is the symbol of honor granted to our family by the Goddess, the manifestation of Light.”

After a simple prayer, Fleidetrika’s expression relaxed again as she chuckled.

“Originally, throughout history, only those who had received the recognition of the heirloom artifact and succeeded the title of the three Saintesses could complete the bloodline’s secondary awakening. Yet, little Nana is different; she is the only exception in three hundred years. Do you know what that represents?”

“What?”

Vilyric tilted her head, while the Saintess drained her cup and sighed.

“It signifies that the Goddess’s light has descended once more and turned its gaze upon Edwina Cecelia. Perhaps she has already surpassed everyone’s distance to the Goddess, including the three Saintesses and the Pope.”

“Not many know about this yet; however, once little Nana returns to the motherland, it will undoubtedly cause an uproar… in every sense. Rather than facing it passively in a hurry at that time, I hope to gather information in advance.”

“Fi-Fi sister…”

Edwina raised her head, looking conflicted as she gazed at her sister, who bore almost her exact appearance, as if she wanted to say something but couldn’t.

On the other side, Vilyric also felt a bit strange, as Edwina hadn’t mentioned this to her at all. Judging by her attitude, it seemed she hadn’t revealed the matter of the Kiss of Light to Fleidetrika either.

What does this mutual secrecy mean?

Edwina is currently the only being in this world who has undergone the Kiss of Light blessing; thus, the Priestess was only now realizing that her hair color change was not a direct skill influence but represented such significance.

No wonder she said the Kiss of Light in the game didn’t have any effect on hair quality…

Edwina should be aware of these matters, but she did not inform Vilyric, who was the instigator.

What exactly is this foolish Holy Knight scheming…
