Chapter 215

Chapter 20: The Heavenly Blessing (Additional Chapter)

“Just to check, there are no other demands, right?”

Vilyric was worried that after curing Epunya, this guy would use the same reason to ask for help with this and that; she wasn’t here to work for anyone.

“Yes, this is the only and final assessment. So, can you do it?”

The President’s voice held a hint of tension; it was clear he was also quite eager to restore his strength and avenge the lifelong shame brought on by the Southern Disaster.

His presence certainly provided the Priestess with considerable convenience, but conversely, wasn’t the arrival of Vilyric and the others Epunya’s only hope for revenge after decades of waiting?

“Alright, then it’s settled.”

Without further ado, a golden staff materialized in the hands of the Black-haired Girl as she remained seated, lightly tapping the tip of the staff towards the tall Beastman sitting across the table.

“Heavenly Blessing.”

Golden droplets, resembling morning dew, traversed the void and fell toward Epunya.

Though only a single drop, the moment it appeared, the air in the entire room was instantly cleared, all filth vanishing.

The man instinctively reached out to catch it, and the droplet seamlessly merged with the skin of his palm the moment it made contact. Before Epunya could even ask, he suddenly shook and stumbled back a few steps.

The Priestess, having anticipated what would happen, quickly shielded her side’s five people and the table of food with a barrier.

Then—

“Ugh!”

Countless gray mists exploded from Epunya’s body, rushing towards Vilyric and the others just like they had seen happen with the previous three!

“Indeed, disparate paths lead to the same destination. Thankfully, we didn’t waste this table of food.”

Saying that, the Black-haired Girl leisurely munched on her dish while observing the changes happening to the President’s body, displaying no signs of anxiety, as if she were watching an excellent performance.

The living, swirling gray mist was at least several times thicker than that contained in the bodies of the three Adventurers before, yet still posed no threat to the Holy Light defense Vilyric had set up; it would be purified the moment it made contact.

“Miss Vilyric, Mr. Epunya… Is he alright? It looks quite frightening!”

Watching the half-Beastman who was blasting gray mist like a wildfire, the kind-hearted Holy Knight felt a hint of concern. Vilyric had long since grown accustomed to this part of her character.

“Don’t worry, a bit of blood is necessary for the surgery. This is just a process of expelling the foreign matter from his body. Trust me, I’ve got it under control. Here, try this; the Kingdom of Kwei’s other stuff is mediocre, but their vegetables are pretty nice.”

Since the Priestess had assured her, Edwina felt relieved, utterly surprised as she swallowed the dish Vilyric had personally placed into her bowl, quietly waiting.

Leila and Renée also seemed slightly uncomfortable with the scene, their appetites not particularly good.

Only one certain Giant Dragon paid no mind, guzzling down the large fish and meat on the table as though they were going out of style. Compared to the light flavors preferred by the Holy Knight, Xiao Guang seemed to favor meat, devouring most of the meaty dishes into her seemingly bottomless stomach.

The gray mists named “Disaster” came quickly and left quickly; these cunning things, seeing they could not return to their original host and failing to breach the golden barrier, decided to backtrack and escape through the windows and cracks in the door.

Unfortunately, Vilyric had also been prepared; the fleeing “Disasters” crashed headfirst into her other barrier covering the inner room, instantly being purified into nothingness.

After several seconds, the Black-haired Girl waved her hand, expanding the inner barrier, effectively purging the room, leaving only the ecstatically shocked President behind.

The bizarre eye-shaped pattern on his chest had vanished, and his aura surged rapidly, directly reaching legendary levels.

“Thirty years… thirty years, haha! Incredible, truly a miracle beyond imagination! All accomplished with just a single drop of liquid…”

Epunya laughed heartily, disregarding his appearance, even forgetting to pull his clothes back together, as the Priestess rolled her eyes internally.

What does it mean “just a single drop of liquid”? The Heavenly Blessing was a bona fide Tier 7 magic, the higher version of Purification. While it was true she cut corners by turning what should have rained down into a mere droplet, she really didn’t need more than that.

Tier 7 magic in this world is usually only castable by Pseudo-Gods; even those who surpassed that tier find it extremely difficult, as it belongs to a realm beyond humanity.

Casually lifting the double purification barrier, Vilyric knocked on the table to remind the ecstatic half-Beastman to calm down.

“I’ve completed what I promised, now it’s your turn to fulfill your commitment; it shouldn’t be a problem, right?”

“Haha, Miss Vilyric, please relax! I’ve never gone back on my word!”

It seemed that reclaiming his legendary strength had restored Epunya’s lost confidence; Vilyric could sense his back was much straighter than before.

After the excitement, the once Martial Madman gradually settled down and returned to the table, starting to contemplate the actual challenges he would face.

“I’ll go arrange the guild matters, we can set off tomorrow. What do you think, Miss Vilyric?”

“Yeah, let’s head out tomorrow morning; no need to rush through the night.”

At the speed of the envoy group, it would take at least three days just to reach Anilow City, and while the exact location of the Southern Disaster was unknown, it certainly wouldn’t appear in this area close to the United Kingdom’s borders, so Vilyric wasn’t particularly rushed.

“Alright, that’s settled then. I still need to prepare some equipment and supplies. By the way, since we’ll be fighting side by side, may I ask your levels and how you wish to be addressed?”

Epunya wasn’t foolish; seeing the miracle Vilyric displayed and the overwhelming presence the Blonde Girl showed, suppressing everyone with mere aura, it would truly be self-deception to claim they were merely at the legendary level.

It was because he had already reached the legendary level himself that the President better understood the limitations of that status.

“What level, you say…”

Vilyric scratched her head in slight confusion; while she didn’t want to be too ostentatious, there was no need to lie since the question had been asked.

She then had Edwina and Leila Renée, who were also legendary, introduce themselves briefly. When it came to her and her pet, she simply stated.

“There’s no point in exaggeration; just consider us stronger than those who surpass levels.”

“Far stronger than one who surpasses levels, huh…”

Epunya nodded knowingly; though it might sound like boasting, frankly, this answer fit with his expectations.

Had it not been so, the former Martial Madman would never have dared to rally together with these girls again to confront the Southern Disaster.

After wrapping up their dinner, they each went their separate ways to prepare for their upcoming journey—mainly Epunya, as Vilyric and the others had nothing special to do.

The President directly arranged a VIP room for them in the Adventurers Guild, and after tonight, it would be the official expedition against the Southern Disaster.
